We visited the Wee Hurrie and got the Haddock and chips, it was fresh, cooked to perfection and the chips are the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend the Wee Hurrie, friendly staff, great portion sizes and I would say it’s more of an experience as opposed to a typical take away fish supper, different class. Look forward to visiting again.

Called in for Fish & Chips for lunch – the weather came in hard & wet across the sea but it couldn’t dampen the delight at this brilliant chippy.
Fish is cooked to order, super fresh, light golden batter and served with large wedge of lemon and tartare sauce. One of the best in South Scotland.

I came to this place around 8 years ago, so good I never forgot it. Pleased to say it was just as I remembered, fresh fish, perfectly battery with perfectly cooked chips. Crispy coating on the chips is amazing, so many places struggle with this. Would taste better in beef dripping rather than vegetable oil, but that’s a minor complaint.

It is a lovely place, 20-30 mins walk from the beach. Shame they did not have any lobsters 🙁
The only improvement I could recommend is to have a seating area. Otherwise the food is great you can still feel the sea in the fish so it’s definitely fresh!

Fresh delicious salmon, delicate fries, nice efficient service. I chose this place out of curiosity and I was not disappointed, delicious freshly fried fish and fries. You have to wait a bit in the queue, but this meal is worth it! Delicious thank you!

Highly recommend this place! We’ve been here multiple times, and there’s always a line — a sure sign of fresh seafood. The food is fast, tasty, and reasonably priced.
The view of the bay is gorgeous, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot some sea lions while waiting. It definitely makes the wait more enjoyable.
The only downside: no seating or restroom available. With the amount of people this place attracts, it would be great to see a solution — having to search for a restroom across town isn’t ideal.

One the best fish&chips I ever had in the UK, if not the best! Fresh fish, delicious batter, light yet tasty. If I’m remotely nearby, I treat myself. I’d recommend monkfish as well as haddock.
