Although open since 2007, Remedy now almost feels like it’s from a bygone era, as it’s a 24-hour diner that has mostly gone extinct post-COVID. They serve alright American food with generous portion sizes, and I was here for brunch, which is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., after we couldn’t get into the nearby Baking Company. The staff was fine, though a bit pushy about ordering quickly, and the place started off quiet and pretty empty, with the diner soon filling up with a lot of folks who seemed mostly tourists. The brunch menu consists of eight options for $29 plus tax, which includes either coffee or tea, along with either a peach Bellini, a Mimosa, or a Bloody Mary. The price point is alright, though I wish they included an Aperol spritz as another drink option, as it’s the same price on the menu.

I went with the Huevos Rancheros, consisting of a crispy corn tortilla served with black beans, sauteed peppers and onions, fried eggs, cheese, and “our ranchero sauce.” The portion size was large, and the food was alright. The corn tortillas had some good crispness, but I found the ranchero sauce a bit bland, and the fried eggs weren’t runny enough. The dish was also very watery, though I think this was mostly because of the beans. I usually don’t add hot sauce to this dish, but it was almost necessary. For my drinks, I got a coffee, which was the standard good diner type, and the Peach Bellini, which was alright.

The other person ordered a dish from the Benedict menu, which is served daily from 6:00 a.m. to 4. He went with the $17 BBQ Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict with poached eggs, pulled pork, and Hollandaise. I tried a bit, and it was alright. The pork was decent with a generic BBQ sauce, as expected, the hollandaise was fine, and the eggs, unlike my dish, were properly made. The dish also came with some hash browns, which were fine as well, though they could have used a bit more flavor. He also got a $4.50 Jumbo Cookie at the end and went for a chocolate chip. This was a bit dry/stale, but at least it was large.

I liked the old-school feel here, and the portion sizes were great, but the food just wasn’t that good. The best parts were fine, but most of the rest was bad. I can see going here if you’re drunk or something and want something, but not much otherwise. Mid 2 at the most, rounded down for general quality.

We were immediately greeted and seated as soon as we walked-in after going to another place down the street that had a 2 to 3 hour wait. The staff were friendly and the food was wholesome. I had the Steady Teddy and did get a chance to take a picture before digging in. My daughter had the chicken sandwich which had the best coleslaw ever. The slaw had a little smokey, heat to the finish that kept me wanting more. Overall, sold, filling meal which was perfect after we walked around the Statue of Liberty. It’s just a short ride on the M15 from Battery Park to 1st Ave and 1st Street. If you happen to be in the area and you’re looking for a filling meal in the city, then you will satisfied. I didn’t get a chance to try the cakes. The German Chocolate cake looked amazing. We enjoyed the black and white milkshake. The Cafe Mocha and Oregon Chai were delicious as well.

We had an incredible experience at this diner! Arriving just before 7:00 AM, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a classic American atmosphere. The food exceeded all expectations, the pancakes and French toast were expertly prepared and very well-served. If you’re looking for a hearty, authentic breakfast, this place is 100% worth a visit.

This is an old-school diner. I would definitely recommend coming here. We got pancakes, which were huge and very very tasty. We also got two eggs Sunny side up, a pulled pork burger and fries. Proportions were huge so you get a bang for your buck.

A friend and I came in and had such a great meal! The French toast was LEGIT some of the best I have ever had. The grilled cheese deluxe also hit. Excellent service as well.

Service was slow even though I was seated immediately. Had to ask for water while waiting for food to arrive. Food was hot when served. I’d go again if I was starving, but not high on my preferred places to dine while home in the city. I really wanted to like this place more than I do.

$18 for three motzo balls in chicken soup is extremely expensive. I’d recommend getting two 16oz orders of matzo ball soup instead of one 32oz order as I imagine each order comes with two balls.

However, it’s pretty freaking good so worth the price.

The service was great and so was my fried chicken but my friend’s ribs were very dry and the key lime pie was a disservice to real keyLime pie did not taste fresh at all.

I had high hopes for this because I love old-school diners. My favorite breakfast is corned beef hash with two eggs over easy. Their menu says they make their own corned beef hash. It is barely edible. It has the consistency of refried beans. The potatoes accompanying the dish are soggy and not crisp. You can see that the color in the picture. I basically ate two eggs and two pieces of toast for $15. Needless to say, I am very disappointed, and I will not be returning.

An old-timey feeling diner without a line on Saturday around 11:30am. The food was pretty good, but the service had a few mistakes from an extra charge on the bill to forgetting drinks
