Reviews
The dishes are pefectly seasoned and loaded with more than enough food for one person (you may have trouble finishing your plate.).
Sometimes they have someone singing Spanish classics to really liven up the atmosphere.
I had an amazing time at Tequila’s. Would recommend to anyone that wants to wow a date or a friend with an amazing authentic Mexican experience.
A real 5 star for sure.
Upon arrival we were seated immediately, & chips with salsa was serve. The place was not busy and had a good vibe.
Folks celebrating Birthdays, families having lunch with the children and tvs playing some Sunday football.
After sitting for a while and no waiter to greet us we waived down a waitress to place a drink order . Again place was not busy, plenty of tables empty.
After 35 min we finally place our food order, nothing complicated ( enchiladas doña chuy, enchiladas verdes & pollo tampiqueña) we notice that waitresses was lost and figured order will be fairly quick with an easy order.
After waiting for 1hr our order still did not come out , nor did the waitress give any update. We requested the check and to have food box up to go.
Manager was not available per staff, on a Sunday??
To make a long story short and add insult to injury. I rate the food a 1 , rice was over cooked ( looked burnt and color was brown) , refried beans look dry and hard as if they have been reheated several times and Enchiladas Dona chuy where to spicy and not edible but the chicken empanisada was good , enchiladas verdes de pollo did not have flavor and presentation was bad.
Rate this place a 0 but inside appearance a 9, lesson of the day LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING !
The server was great and apologized every time we asked for something that was not available.
Party of 9 excited to enjoy the “ El patron “ on the menu. We all ordered our drinks when it came to ordering our food she told us there was no more meat only Tomahawk. We had to look over the menu again to see if we want something else. We asked for camarones zarandeados she told us they didn’t have that either! Well if you don’t have anything why don’t you tell the customers, but charged us $90 for just drinks!!!! We weren’t the only ones that walked out! We let everyone know that was waiting to be seated not to wait.
They claimed to have not gotten my email.
They sit us after making us feel uncomfortable for the business not checking their email correspondence (specifically the hostess). Our waiter was nothing but kind and gracious. My review is not of him or his service. If anything, I hope he finds a business that can appreciate him.
We waited for over 2 hours for our food (which never came), when we decided to leave. They give us a $700 almost $800 bill because of drinks… which we did consume, but we only were forced to order bc we had hopes our food would come eventually… we were also very shocked that they didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience (because we consumed it). The owner called security on our table because we told the owner that he clearly doesn’t know how to manage. The employees hadn’t been paid in over 2 weeks… they had no shrimp…. They had no chicken… they ran out of modelos. It’s only 7pm at this point (reservations were at 6pm) on a Saturday night. Overall seems like they were ill prepared for the entire night and on a $700 tab I’m shocked you’re not able to pay your employees. We finally left a little before 11pm. No one ate.
Again our waiter was fantastic, but I won’t be returning anymore and neither will the 19 other guests.
After standing there for a bit, one of the hostesses (curly hair-half up hairstyle) approached us and asked if we had a reservation. I explained that we were on the waiting list. In a very rude tone, she told us that since we didn’t have a reservation, we needed to wait in the lobby. There was no “please” or polite explanation just a very dismissive and unfriendly attitude.
The interaction made my family and me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Unfortunately, because of the way we were treated, we decided to leave and go somewhere else for dinner. Customer service and communication make a big difference in a busy restaurant, and this experience really put us off.
