Unlike many Florida piers that are city-owned, this entire pier structure and restaurant are privately owned and operated by Westgate, which gives the experience a cohesive and well-maintained feel from the entrance all the way out over the water.
We came specifically for the Florida Gator Melt, a pier exclusive made with local gator tail. I added pepper jack and avocado, which balanced the spice well and made for a flavorful, well-constructed sandwich. We also tried the Killer Key Lime Pie, made in true Key West fashion with egg yolks, condensed milk, and Nellie & Joe’s Key Lime Juice in a graham cracker crust. Classic, tart, and authentic.
Our server, Galina, was not only attentive but genuinely witty. She had a quick sense of humor and felt like my twin in conversation. She shared that she is from Kazakhstan, which by land area is the ninth largest country in the world. That unexpected bit of geography added personality to the experience.
Between the ocean views, the historical anchor display on the pier, strong food, and lively service, it was a memorable stop in Cocoa Beach.
Had to request refills because waiter was doing his own thing for the 45 mins we were there.
Originally was going to be seated as a group of 10, but 5 of us were in an accident and didn’t make it to be served at the same time. The others were paying by the time the other 5 of us got there. Charged us mandatory gratuity for 6+ people (ok, whatever), but then tried to keep the additional almost $8 leftover from me paying in cash, telling me to have a good night and not asking if I even wanted the change. At least the food WAS good.
Our server greeted us promptly and provided excellent service throughout. We each had a beer and shared the turkey on rye sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. It came with their signature fries, and the portion was more than enough for two people.
No complaints at all, great food, friendly service, and unbeatable views. If I find myself back in Cocoa Beach, I’ll definitely return for another relaxing lunch.
