The Hive is a small coffee shop and cafe in historic Honomū town on the way to Akaka Falls. We serve a variety of espresso drinks, cold brew, Tropical Sodas and Teas, as well as locally sourced food items like Avocado Toasts, breakfast sandwiches and lunch wraps! We strive for Organic and Local as much as possible!

Beautiful cafe close to the goat dairy and akaka state falls. The lady inside the shop was working the hardest because she made drinks for a bunch of people who came in the shop before us and then still managed to make the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life. The combination of flavors was so good. The avocado itself was delicous and I’m Def gonna say Hawaiian avocados are the best in the world, so mild and buttery. The balsamic drizzle was so good with it and the presentation of the plate was absolutely beautiful, absolutely worth the price. The egg was perfectly cooked, a bit runny to drip down onto the bread. Our coffees were amazing as well. The honey girl was yummy. I loved this place and everything about it.

Had a delicious iced coffee which was very much needed (Da honey girl) , my fiance got just a hot coffee with milk and that was good too. Food was delicious, had the sourdough sandwich and deluxe avo toast. DELICIOUS!! You wont regret stopping here

For me, The Hive was an incredible find! I stumbled in on a Sunday morning, looking for a latte. I was really excited because the flavors on the menu seemed quite exotic. The owner definitely isn’t afraid to think outside the box (or should I say, outside the cup?) I went with the Habibi latte, which was flavored with cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla. It was exquisite, paired with a big, fresh, flakey croissant.
As I was waiting, I looked around the cafe and noticed a plethora of healthy snacks for sale (grain free, organic, etc.) I expressed my delight to the barista and she informed me that the owner is passionate about serving fresh, locally sourced produce. She added that much of it is grown right in their own garden which is outside the back door! I was so impressed with the Hive’s commitment to fresh, healthy and delicious options that I can’t recommend it enough!

The local jewelry selection was extensive and we enjoyed picking up gifts for friends and family. Plenty of seating inside and out front. Didn’t try the lunch options but the menu looks delicious. Also the cookies were amazing.
