Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Place isn’t huge but there was seating for everyone. We had a dog and there was a couple small tables outside we sat at. I really liked the Boxcar fried chicken sandwich. A unique and delicious combination of flavors. The pickles are house made and the peach slaw is awesome! The bun was definitely soggy so my eating experience was a little messy, but delicious. Others in our party had mixed experiences. Those who got the boxcar sandwich liked it, and a couple who got a build your own didn’t care for it as much. The fried pickles were really good as well.

It was nice and not large. With the decor and name I would have expected some 60/70s car hop music or some upbeat background music. But the special sauce and chicken strips were really good. Love the crisp and flavor.
Hubby had the smash burger and my son had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (he said it was really hot but really good), absolutely loved the fries the way they are done.

It was just a few blocks from the hotel, so I walked down and had a grilled chicken salad. It was quite possibly the most flavorful grilled chicken I’ve ever had. The pickled green tomatoes were something I never had, but it added a nice flavor to the salad as well. The service was quick and friendly, making for a terrific first time experience at Boxcar Betty’s.

I had the boxcar chicken sandwich, and it was so delicious that it almost brought tears to me eyes. My date got tired of me saying “this food is SO GOOD!!” over and over. The French fries were absolutely the best I’ve ever had!! The atmosphere was as good as the food and the service was fast and terrific — this is my new favorite place!!!

We arrived just after the lunch rush. Very friendly people working there. We placed our order, and had a small wait for our food to arrive. The smash burger was outstanding. Chicken fingers were as tasty as expected. Someone came by to ensure we were enjoying our meal which is nice to see, and was appreciated.

We all got hamburger, so we were easy. we were on the mood for coffee so we ended up stopping at Blum coffee and wine bar over on meeting street afterwards. I love taking my out of town friends to eat here! Its got such a great one-of-a-kind of place that has the best friends chicken! Small menu with large flavor! Our server Tiye was so friendly and made my friends have a fantastic experience at this establishment. Thank you!
