This restaurant has been open for a few months. I read some good reviews and thought I would give it a try. Took the wife after church on Sunday, by the way they are now open 7 days a week. Also went back a few days later. I had breakfast both times and it was wonderful. I love supporting local businesses. This is a good one. Go try it. And the owners are wonderful and they use locally sourced foods. The food taste so fresh, they make there own bread.

Stopped in while in the area for the first time after seeing great online reviews and a photo of a Reuben that looked amazing. The location itself is cute, but unfortunately that is where the positive experience ended.
We were seated and placed our order within a couple of minutes, but waited nearly 40 minutes for our two Reubens to arrive. After about 30 minutes, my husband asked if our meals could be boxed to go since we had not planned on such a long lunch. About 10 minutes later, the boxes and check were brought out.
We ordered two Reubens, a side of fries, a side salad, and each had a 12 oz can of Dr Pepper. The total was $45. We were aware of the $18 price per sandwich and assumed the portions would reflect that.
Unfortunately, what was served should not be called a Reuben. The bread was falling apart and was clearly not rye. There was no Thousand Island dressing despite it being listed on the menu. The meat was chopped into very small pieces and amounted to maybe an ounce total per sandwich. The sauerkraut had no flavor, and the sandwich was overwhelmingly greasy. I took a few bites and could not finish it.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience and a complete waste of $45.

They have the best food and dessert. Me and my husband eat a certain way( gluten free) and the owners make the best gluten free food. The service was great and so friendly. They do ask about food allergies, or they did us anyways. The quail eggs were delicious in our food. We got to try new sauces they were making. We will definitely be back. ☺️

We loved this place!!!! First timers today and the food was unbelievable. The quail egg salad sandwich on homemade bread was delicious. My husband said the burger was top notch! Hand cut sweet potato fries to boot. You will love the handmade sauces. The atmosphere and service was excellent. We also tried the chocolate peanut butter cake, WOW……

My husband and I just wrapped up ENJOYING lunch at The Quail Shack for the first but certainly not last time. We will most definitely be back soon and cannot wait to tell all of our friends about it. If you are on the fence about trying this community to table restaurant, do yourself a favor and just take the leap and go for it! You will not be disappointed. Yes, it’s not your average restaurant but that’s the charm and heartbeat of this place. We had the pleasure of speaking with the owner Dave and our waitress, Dori at length. In just a matter of moments, you can see the passion exuding that Dave has over creating special and unique plates and bites of food. We had the opportunity to try the Q Balls, the Mac and Cheese, and the Quail Egg Big Beef Dog. We cannot say enough about these dishes and they are absolutely a must try!
In other notes, the eating spaces are clean, the restrooms as well. The environment is so welcoming and friendly and we appreciate the touches of scripture throughout the restaurant. We were welcomed right away with warm smiles and friendly hellos.
They are still fairly new to our charming Cleburne town, and are hoping to grow in business as time goes on! Let’s give them a warm and friendly Cleburne welcome and help keep this place around for years to come!

My family are here on a Saturday and what a delightful experience. The owner was so passionate about his food when talking about it and it showed in the actual food itself. I love that the food is local and utilized the community in the process. I had the quail pot pie, my husband had the quail scotch eggs, egg salad sandwich and my daughter had the burger while my son got the french toast with custard. It was all wonderful and you could taste the love in every bite.

OMG this place is totally on the list of of things to try while in Cleburne. From the baked goods to the decor this place was amazing. I was a little hesitant at first, Because it was like trying something new for the first time, but I gotta say it did not disappoint in the slightest. For those that are not as adventurous, they have traditional menu items as well but don’t let that fool you just because I say traditional they add a bit of a twist to everything and it is delicious. I recommend this place to take a date, family gathering, or even solo. The staff are totally amazing as well they treat you like family and are very personable.
