The good;
*The food is good
*The dining area and restrooms are clean.
*Low pricing on meals.
*Friendly staff!
The not so good;
I ordered inside and dined in.
Staff was observed eating around drive through window.
Portion sizes are extremely small with the chicken breast barely visible under the small tomato slice. The bun was 3″ diameter and my side of slaw was probably 2 or 3 oz.

Who ever they hired recently, just really doesn’t care about the job. This place used to be 5 star all day. Recently, the orders have been messed up. Either completely wrong order at drive thru or not getting everything that was ordered. Example, ordered burger tray with bacon, lettuce, tomato. I received no bacon, even though was charged for it, and they added cheese, which I did not ask for. Comes with two sides, I asked for double fries. Got only one small portion of fries. The staff there seems like they do not care. What a shame

Great employees and food. But sometimes they agree to serve the worst people, like these scrawny boys who WALKED through the drive thru, stopped the whole line for over half an hour, and made the food out of stock.

This place used to be really good now the portions are getting worse while prices increase. I ordered a chicken strip tray with fries and one of the strips was only 1 inch long and only 20 fries. I was in the drive through and in a rush and didn’t realize till I left that they didn’t offer any sauce.

Stopped at Cook Out after a long day at the horse show and it hit the spot. We ordered a cheeseburger, hotdog, hush puppies, and the “nachos in a bag” (whatever you call those!) — everything came out fast and was pretty solid. You really can’t beat the speed and the prices. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you want when you’re hungry and want something quick and satisfying.

While traveling, I got off the interstate and drove the few miles especially to buy food from CookOut because in my town CookOut sells fried okra. The girl at the window said they have never had fried okra at this location, so I opted for some hush puppies which I don’t think I’ve ever had there before. Their hush puppies are awful (not made with cornmeal, apparently & they look like a small animal pooped them out) and they don’t even have cocktail sauce to go with them… they gave me some CookOut sauce that is so sugary sweet.
If I wanted sugar I’d have ordered some dessert. I’m done with CookOut. It’s really hard to find real food anywhere anymore.

My favorite place in town for a burger, and a milkshake (40 or so flavors!). Yummy Cajun fries and onion rings. They also serve Cheerwine (cherry soda), which is hard to find outside NC. This Cook Out has rustic wood paneling and seating, looking kind of like an upscale barn or picnic shelter, with local schools’ team shirts and flags for decoration. Easy access with a traffic light at the entrance and plenty of parking. Service is prompt and friendly.

Great food at a competitive price. My only gripe is that their extensive milkshake menu does NOT include a birthday cake variant.

I have always loved the cheap prices and delicious food that Cook Out offers. However, we are very disappointed and surprised at the Lexington location’s service and food. Ordered a double burger tray and a few corn dogs. The corn dogs were burnt and had holes in them (did not look appetizing) and the “double burger” was far from that. As seen in the photos, the patties were tiny oval burnt things. I have never seen such a badly done burger at a fast food restaurant. I would have turned around immediately to tell management and get something else but they never gave me a receipt.
I do not recommend going to the Lexington Cook Out.

First time at a Cookout. Food I would give a 4.5 and the milkshake a 5.0. Staff friendly. Location was clean and good atmosphere
