Osaka is a great place for sushi. We like to sit at the bar and talk to the sushi chef while they prepare our dishes. Highlights include the poke, Salmon skin hand roll and the whole aji. When they have it we like to finish our meals with some Santa Barbara uni, which has a taste of the ocean and a little sweetness.

The service and the food was great. We celebrated a birthday sitting at the hibachi area. The chef was entertaining and made sure we were happy with the food. Definitely try the filet mignon and sea bass.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life! 55 degrees in the back corner. $485 meal and all 8 of us froze the entire night. They know they have an issue and have a tiny space heater. Absolute joke of an establishment! Service was a joke as well. Get soup without spoons for 5 minutes, nothing gets cleared off the table. It was so cold the food was cold in seconds! JOKE!

Chef Carlos at Osaka is the kind of hibachi chef that accidentally ruins all future hibachi experiences for you because now your standards are way too high. The guy had perfect timing with everything — jokes, fire, food, more fire — all while cooking like it was nothing. No awkward pauses, no forced “are you ready??” energy, just smooth, confident chaos in the best way.

The food was actually insane. Like, not “hibachi good,” but wow I’m still thinking about it later good. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned right, and somehow showed up on my plate immediately after being launched across the grill at Mach speed. The shrimp didn’t miss. The rice didn’t miss. Chef Carlos didn’t miss once.

What really made it though was that he was genuinely funny without trying too hard. Just quick comments, perfectly timed looks, and subtle jokes that had the whole table laughing without feeling like we were watching a rehearsed script. It felt like hanging out with someone who’s just naturally good at what they do and knows it.

Bottom line: if you’re going to Osaka and you don’t ask for Chef Carlos, you’re basically choosing the side quest instead of the main story. 10/10 experience, would absolutely go back, and yes — I’d trust this man with my dinner and my entertainment again.

If you are looking for a dining experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than Osaka. While we have visited before, our most recent lunch was nothing short of magical—an absolute masterclass in Japanese hospitality and culinary excellence.
From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was serene and inviting, feeling as though the entire space had been reserved just for us. However, the true highlight of our visit was KJ, our host. His warmth, expertise, and attention to detail elevated our meal into a memory we will cherish.
A Culinary Journey to Remember
Under KJ’s expert guidance, we embarked on a flavor journey that was flawless from start to finish:
The Prelude: We began with perfectly warmed Sake and Squid Fingers—lightly breaded, savory, and tender.
The Star of the Show: The Toro was a revelation. It melted on the tongue like butter, leaving a delicate, sweet finish that I’m still thinking about.
The Main Event: We enjoyed the fan-favorite Shrimp Tempura and the White Tiger Roll, featuring seared fatty tuna and avocado that tasted like pure luxury.
Freshness Redefined: The Sashimi in our Bento box featured some of the freshest, most vibrant salmon and tuna I have ever encountered.
The Grand Finale
Just when we thought the meal couldn’t be improved, KJ surprised us with a Yuzu Sorbet. It was the most refreshing, palate-cleansing bite imaginable—the perfect “exclamation point” to a perfect afternoon.
Why You Must Visit
Osaka isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination for anyone who appreciates world-class service and authentic flavors. We left feeling completely satisfied, happy, and already planning our next trip back.
Pro Tip: When you visit, ask for KJ. His recommendations are impeccable. For an even more authentic and wonderful experience, request a seat at the Tatami table.
Don’t just eat—dine. Osaka is waiting for you.

This place is absolutely stunning. Firstly the staff immediately greeted us with a very professional and caring manner. It was our first time and they explained everything very well. They have multiple seating arrangements and was confusing to me at first, until the hostess explained it all. It was awesome. They have booth seating, a bar, a table that I can’t explain but it authentic to the restaurant, and hibachi seating. We choose the hibachi as we were celebrating my wife’s birthday. They explained the menu to us and the food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and prepared to our liking. Our chef was very friendly and amazing on the grill. Our son was a little scared of the fire at first so the chef made sure to always keep him informed of what was coming next and made the experience much better. Our server was amazing as well, he was very professional and fast. Our drinks never went empty and he was always there to help. They offered the kids ice cream, and they loved it. This is definitely a spot for celebrations and the staff makes it unforgettable.

Late night dining and open until 12 midnight on Saturday. I’ve been to the Sahara location and am glad my friends reminded me that this location was close to us. Service was good, and she was attentive. Now, the bus boy was meh. His customer service skills need brushing up.

Food:
Tiger Roll
And I can’t remember my others’ rolls. See photos. They were all good.
Chicken Skin Skewer

My friends had the Kalbi, Tiger Roll, Japanesw Lasagna, and a few rolls.

I will definitely return.

I really wanted to like this place, but it was just really disappointing. Came in around 3:30pm on Saturday there was barely anyone here. Waited a bit and finally sat. Our server didn’t come in until 5-10 minutes and since it was my first time here, they have such a big menu we couldn’t decide. Our server never came back until 20 minutes after. And then after that, he never came back! (I think his name is Noah and just straight up left us hanging). None of the other servers came in to check in on our food or if we needed anything. We even overheard a family that was sitting next to us said “i think they forgot about us” and saw them looking for the server every 5 minutes. We had to wait for the food that felt like forever. We waited almost more than 30 minutes for someone to actually ask how we’re doing and get a check. Food is WAY overpriced, service is poor even during a non busy hour. I wouldn’t recommend coming :/

We have been dining at Osaka for over 15 years. We had some issues with our to-go dinner on Saturday night. The manager Jennifer was really great as she listened to our concerns, apologized, extended a gesture to make the situation right and she was genuine. It was really nice to experience a manager that listens to the customer and owns the situation! Great job Jennifer and we will be back for more delicious sushi!

KJ and reoji were amazing! Best hospitality and food. They opened the hibachi early for us and had the best recommendations. We came here on a whim and it was the best decision we will be back next time were in town!
