We took a short trip from Chicago to explore Milwaukee and decided to try St. Paul Fish Company — and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and so fresh. We started with the crab cake, fried calamari, and shrimp — all perfectly seasoned and crispy. For our mains, we had the Bouillabaisse, Lobster Roll, Fish and Chips, and Grilled Shrimp Tacos, and every dish was spot on. The lobster roll was buttery and full of flavor, the Bouillabaisse had a rich, savory broth loaded with seafood, and the fish and chips were golden and flaky. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We loved everything about this place — from the food to the vibe of the public market — and it was definitely worth the drive from Chicago. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Milwaukee!

Everything is so good here if you like seafood! It’s always busy, so expect to get on a waitlist and walk around the market while you wait. It’s best suited for 2 people, maximum 4 people per table. The bloody mary was delicious! The lobster roll was good, and I would highly recommend the blackened salmon sandwich. Service was quick and friendly!

My wife and I decided on dinner out and I wanted fresh fish. So no better place to go than here.

The Blackened Ahi Tuna was excellent and it came on a hot bed of mixed vegetables. I made a mistake and ordered it medium well. I should have gone with rare. A glass of the Chardonnay was perfect.

My wife had the Salmon Rockefeller, but skipped the bun in favor of being a lettuce wrap. It was flavorful and hot.

The only negative was the paging device didn’t buzz and we waited 10-15 longer than we had to.

We’ll come again.

I walked into the Milwaukee Public Market and discovered St. Paul Fish Company, a fantastic seafood shop and restaurant. They offer a wide variety of fresh seafood. I spotted someone at the bar enjoying a lobster and couldn’t resist trying it myself and it was amazing. I paired it with a local light beer, then followed with a wild Bloody Mary and another beer, which I was told is the true Milwaukee style. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making my first visit an experience I really enjoyed.

St. Paul Fish Company is truly an amazing restaurant! I ordered takeout and ate upstairs—the place was very busy and crowded, but even so, I was impressed by how quickly the food came out without any issues. The lobster roll was generous and delicious, and the price was very reasonable. I had been debating for a while on where to eat, and I’m so glad I chose this spot. I left completely satisfied and would definitely recommend it!

First time as out-of-towners in Milwaukee in winter time. As we explore the city we chanced on the Mke Public Market and saw St Paul Fish Co. near one of the exits. Gotta have the gumbo and it was delicious albeit less spicy and savory as those in LA, but delicious nonetheless. Even kids can have it. We ate it at the loft dining area. I would love to try the seafood but it’s gonna be messy so we opted for it another time

Found in the corner opposite the stairs that goes to the 2nd floor, you’ll find a bustling fishmonger serving water-based protein delights. The place is often queued up, but there is a buzzer so you can roam around while you wait. Ordering is a breeze, once you know what you want. Please don’t decide to make your choice while in front of the cashier, who is kind enough to wait but those behind are not. The portions here will make Poseidon proud. And tastes that Dagon would approve. So next time you have Cthulhu’s appetite, swim over to St. Paul’s Fish Company, your fins will thank you.

5 stars and then some! It all is good. My wife and I shared a lobster bisque and then had a lobster sandwich. It came with fries and Cole slaw. It was all awesome! Joe our server was attentive, personable and on point. If you are ever in Milwaukee you have to eat here. It is in The Milwaukee Food Hall in a casual atmosphere. I understand that on weekends there could be a wait to eat here.

This place has been a favorite place for years and have recommended to others. I’ve had out of town and out of country visitors wanting to visit again. Being from across the border in Illinois, the road trip is always worth the drive. The lobster roll and fresh oysters are always on top of the list to order.

Visiting from Melbourne, Australia and this is my second time here. When in Milwaukee and enjoy seafood, St. Paul Fish Company is a must. Nestled inside the Milwaukee Public Market, this place is what seafood lovers dream about—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. But be warned: the word is out, and this spot is popular. Expect a bit of a wait during peak hours, but trust me, it’s time well spent. You can either people-watch, admire the seafood counter, or plan your dessert strategy for later (pro tip: you will want dessert and I cannot recommend the Freesies chocolate on site).

Now, let’s talk food. The clam chowder and Maine Lobster roll so delicious you’ll be dunking every last piece of bread into it like it’s your job.

St. Paul strikes that perfect balance between casual and top-tier quality. The staff knows their seafood, and you can taste the care they put into every dish. It’s a place that makes you want to linger, even after you’ve cleared your plate. And since you’re at the Public Market, you can grab a chocolates and sausages and more seafood on your way out—because, let’s be honest, you’re going to wish you had more when you get home.

Final verdict? If you’re in Milwaukee and don’t eat at St. Paul Fish Company, you’re doing the city wrong.
