If you’re looking for a cozy place that serves beautiful and delicious brunch, I’d really recommend this restaurant!

I’m always searching for brunch that’s not too salty, not too sweet — just calm and balanced flavors. Quality matters more to me than quantity. Brunch, to me, sets the rhythm for the rest of the day

The name Cupitol caught my eye right away. Maybe because every place with that name in New York had left such a good memory

️ The Space: From the gentle gold sign outside to the bright, open space inside, everything felt welcoming. The tables were just far enough apart, so you could relax and enjoy your meal in peace

Classic Brioche French Toast with Mixed Berries:
It came with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, a sprinkle of sugar, and a soft cloud of whipped cream. I asked for both strawberries and blueberries on top, and they did it perfectly. The toast was soft, and the kind of texture that feels gentle when you bite in.

The fruit surprised me in the best way: different colors, shapes, and even tiny grapes mixed in. The strawberries tasted fresh, not frozen, which made me really happy.

The Honey:
This might sound small, but I noticed it right away. The honey came in a tiny glass pot, clean and shiny — not a sticky packet. You could open it neatly with a light press of your thumb. It was simple but elegant, and somehow it felt personal. I could drizzle just the right amount, exactly as I liked. Pure joy.

Vegan Avocado Toast (No Side):
This was my first dish of the day (blood sugar first!). The avocado was smooth but not heavy, mixed with fresh basil, lemon juice, tomato, and maybe a little pesto. Everything sat beautifully on crisp baguette slices. The flavors came together like a small harmony.

☕️ 12oz Matcha Latte:
The latte art was so graceful that it made my whole “big picture” for the day come true

‍ ‍ ‍ The Team:
Three wonderful staff members helped me that day. One of them even made me a special matcha latte as a surprise. That meant more than they probably knew — I’m a researcher who often turns to matcha on difficult days, so that small kindness changed everything. I hope they know how deeply thankful I am.

Cupitol is a small lesson in kindness and warmth, all served on one plate

Very nice coffee shop with tasty lattes, friendly staff and a spacious layout allowing for ample seating. I appreciated the reasonable prices, the warm lighting, and the nice mix of guests.

Room for improvement: The blueberry scone could have been better (neither did it taste like blueberry nor did it have the right dough consistency to qualify as a scone) and the closing time of 4pm is too early. Apart from that: a clear recommendation!

This is a really good spot for coffee and they also have an excellent selection of pastries and other treats. I got the cinnamon roll and it was very good. The sweetness of the cinnamon roll perfectly complimented my mocha coffee which was excellent as well. This can be quite a busy place, but it’s only because the coffee and food are so darn good. The wait wasn’t really bad at all, only 10 minutes, and it was well worth it. So if you’re in Evanston you can’t do much better than this place for your morning coffee. Highly recommended!

This place is absolutely amazing. The space itself is impressively large, offering plenty of room with super comfortable seating that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your time. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of cozy and lively, with a cute and inviting design plus lots of lounge-style seating for groups or solo visits. Service is quick and friendly, making you feel welcomed right away. Once seated, the food arrived in no time, and it was nothing short of delicious. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared, adding to the overall great experience. A fantastic spot to hang out, enjoy a meal, and soak in a warm and welcoming vibe.

I’ve been looking for a good lunch spot near-ish to campus. This place seems to fit the bill and stands out amongst most of the places I’ve gone in Evanston. I had a lovely pistachio almond croissant and cold brew. The food from the kitchen looks great too and I’m excited to try. Seems like it can get very busy with not enough places to sit at those times, but was decently open when I went an hour and a half before close. Biggest issue was the cup my cold brew came it – it was horrifically dirty and I’m shocked the person pouring my drink didn’t see it. Like it looked like it had been used to make a matcha latte before, as there was a big splotch of green crust in the cup. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it was just at the top (above where my drink was), but nope the cold brew had a hint of matcha. That’s pretty gross!

We came here after playing some pickleball, and everything was fine. The soup was serviceable and the salad was a salad. I do appreciate that there was ample seating when we came on a rainy day, but the food and drinks seemed middling. Not too expensive which was appreciated, but I do think there are some places that I prefer nearby.

Yesterday I visited this place and had an excellent experience. Alexis treated me amazingly from the moment I arrived. His welcome and the way he took my order were very professional and kind.

I was also impressed that he personally prepared my Mocha Latte, and it was so, so delicious. Honestly, I’ve never tasted a latte that good before.

Thank you so much, Alexis, for your great service and attention. I will definitely be coming back!

Great atmosphere, but lacking vegan options. I felt misled by reviews here and the older menus. Only vegan breakfast item is the avocado wrap and only if you omit the egg/cheese (and you’ll still be charged the full price). Even the oatmeal isn’t safe—it’s made with milk.

Food and matcha were OK

I got the chicken blta and substituted the bread for a protein wrap ($2 up charge). Paid $17 for essentially a McDonald’s snack wrap. I understand inflation is a thing, but $17 for the SMALLEST wrap and no side is criminal. Plus the chicken is dry as hell and there’s barely any sauce.

Warm and inviting atmosphere with delicious food. We tried the brioche french toast and the avocado wrap and they were amazing. The yum berry smoothie and mocha latte were very good too.
