My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at this little restaurant. Unfortunately, the Chef was in Japan, so the sushi menu was limited. The service was fantastic and what we were able to order was high-quality. We had the tempura onion, which was unlike anything we’ve ever had in a great way! We will definitely come back to see what the sushi and sashimi is like with The head chef in house. I will come back again! Friendly service and extremely fair Prices. This is a must try.

I ordered the katsu don without realizing how it was prepared, and one of the ladies was kind enough to change the dish it to suit my preferences—even though it was completely my fault for not reading the menu properly. She truly went out of her way and saved my day!

This was my first time revisiting Mahoroba in over 4 years.
I ordered takoyaki, veggie tempura, dynamite rolls, water, and tofu yakisoba for $44 after tax and tip.
Note that if there’s a downtown community event they are usually fully booked.
The takoyaki was the highlight for me. The veggie tempura pieces ranged from yam, broccoli, Mushroom, and green peppers.
Servers were very friendly.
Note that you do need to walk to the counter and pay.
The tofu yakisoba flavour was great. People might expect more vegetables, but I thought it was fine.
The dynamite rolls had a good crunch to it.
In terms of selection, the noodle range and donburi bowl range is bigger than expected.
However, the selection of rolls is quite limited. Kawakubo, Sushi Kawa, Ohkims, and Jade’s all offer a much wider selection of rolls.
Overall it was just as good as I remembered in 2021. It is one of the 237 eateries I have visited in town.

The food all tasted really good. The portions made us full (almost too full). We were both very happy with our meals.

Excellent food, reasonably priced, and exceptional service from one of the waitresses! I ordered the chicken bento box and it came out in a timely manner as well.
Beware that free parking maybe hard to find. I had to park just outside the restaurant (pretty cheap though at $1/hr).

Delicious Japanese eats made by Japanese folks in Vernon. Had a great lunch here on a recommendation from a Japanese Lady form Kamloops. She was right, it is was really nice and the price was spot on. We have eaten a few Japanese Sushi Places run by Japanese Folks. and you can taste the difference. When we come through Vernon again we will definitely be back again. Thank You.

Best japanese food in vernon hands down. I always get the beef don and it never fails the meat taste like grade a beef their rolls are always on point and have really good deals on their bento boxes.

This food was terrible zero flavour and the prawn for my dynamite rolls were certainly not cooked on this day! Gyoza was sooo bad it is a green paste inside of the whole wheat casing
