The food was amazing! I loved the carpenter ramen. It was very authentic to what we tried in Tokyo, very flavorful. Our favorite ramen in the east coast. We also tried the buns which were good and the green curry ramen was also good but more colder climate vibes. The servers were really nice and speedy. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. They did such an amazing job with the space they have. I’m definitely going back!

Places is simply amazing. The staff and the ambience is perfect. Very relaxing environment, playing really cool jams and serving delicious food. The amount of Parmesan they put on their salad should be mandatory at every restaurant. The noodles were out of this world. Packed with umami flavor. A little bit of everything sweet, salty hearty filling Just a great bowl of food. If you have a sweet tooth, do not pass on the ice cream the blueberry cornbread ice cream was a great way to finish the meal. This place knocked it out of the park.

Two things I don’t play at all about, are a proper chai tea latte and RAMEN. Ever since Providence lost Ken’s Ramen, we’ve desperately needed this noodly void filled, and in the footsteps of the legendary establishment that was Big King, came Pickerel, and boy do they go above and beyond the call of duty.
We had the Cabbage Ceasar (VITAL) and the Menma rice to start, both were astutely delectable, but the Cabbage Caesar’s mountainous glory is a MUST order, to simply behold, but also serves as the perfect palate opener for the deliciousity to ensue.
The kitchen cares and that’s beyond evidently clear, with the love and care and attention to detail in every cut of seaweed, every sprinkle of spice, there’s thought in every part of the Pickerel experience. Beyond the kitchen, even the bathroom’s aesthetic is of worthy note. The ceiling vents are even a noteworthy aesthetic detail.
We had the carpenter st and rhode island red bowls and i couldn’t recommend either enough — if you love spice like I do, the rhode island red hits the spot like none other!
hats off to the chefs, the bartenders, even the fellow guests felt like we all were in this together as appreciators of a quality culinary experience.
MICHELIN STAR THESE FOLKS ASAP!!!!

This place earned a perfect score of 5 for ramen. It’s been two long years since I finished the entire Tori ramen soup in New England. And guess what? This is the first ramen restaurant in the New England to achieve that feat.

This place gets the balance between creative and traditional just right. Absolutely delicious ramen, including a great spicy vegan bowl, as well as amazing small plates – and some of the best little desserts ever, including great savory ice creams which are great to finish the meal.
These folks have a great ongoing collaboration with an award winning ramen joint outside of Tokyo and it definitely shows.
The atmosphere is low key cool and cozy – superb date spot, or just a great place to get a great meal solo.

scott and crew are a well oiled machine, cranking out top tier noodles. don’t forget to ask what crazy things might be happening on the dessert side too; you might just find they have an off-menu ice cream that “looks funny” but tastes incredible

My all time favorite restaurant. They never fail to impress me. Every single item they have on their menu is so delicious and perfectly executed. My gf and I order most of the menu every time we go. The ramen made here is the most unique and flavor packed I’ve ever had. DO NOT skip out on their dessert, get every scoop of ice cream they offer. Pickerl makes it impossible to go and try other dinner spots because everything is so perfectly done.

Started with the cabbage caesar, which was bomb! The fried eggplant was perfect.
Amazing ramen! I was so full but couldn’t stop eating. Definitely get the egg.

Really weird interior vibes and food is relatively good! I would not say spectacular. I think the dessert is 10000% the standout in the meal! We got the banana bread and ice cream and both were phenomenal.

I was torn between coming here or Gift Horse for my birthday dinner but decided here for some cool and chill vibes but I was met with the opposite experience. First off the website doesn’t post the menu so upon arrival I had to inquire more about their specials dish to make sure it was not a dipping broth ramen but was met with a condescending tone that they are a “ramen” restaurant. Yes that is obvious but what I was asking was also another type of ramen. And then I asked about a sherry drink they were offering, in which I was concerned about the onion flavor but it was just stated as a garnish but it wasn’t specified as it being inside the drink. I wish I was told that specifically because that’s not what I was looking for but the drink itself just wasn’t very good and didn’t have any of the orange flavor it stated. The ramen itself I ordered the 8th special and it was fine. I enjoyed the noodle texture and the broth was described as having both pork and chicken broth but it did not have that depth of flavor, it was just one dimensional. I also found the pork pieces also not very tender and fatty and not grilled/seared. I also tried my partners Carpenter ramen and that was also not bad but also very mid. The noodle texture could have been more bouncy and same issue with the meat.
I left feeling like there was a lot left to be desired from the food and the service or lack of considering the positive reviews. Also the appetizer of the cabbage salad was lackluster as I didn’t get much of the yuzu flavor besides the general citrus. Yes it looks cool at first with the shaved cheese on top but it’s just shredded cabbage with mayo under all of that. My partner said that it was practically cole slaw but with less stuff in it. Also the music curation was obnoxious and on top of that it was also too loud. The waiters never checked on us and I had to flag them down for the check. At this point not sure why I bothered to have left the house.
Overall the food isn’t horrible but the accumulated disappointing elements and pretentious atmosphere has left a bad taste in my mouth.
