I have literally never experienced a restaurant that make exceptions for kids. My kids eat non spicy food and I asked if they had a kids menu. The owner of the restaurant said that they could easily make aloo parathas for my kids and they loved it. During our next visit they also offered to make non spicy fish Koliwada served with tangy tamarind chutney which my kids loved!
We as adults got to enjoy the spicy fish and chicken thaali which were really delicious and yet my kids got a treat of their own. Never have I experience so much care and kindness at any restaurant in atleast this last decade. I can easily say that I’ve become their life long patron.
Other veggie dishes that we’ve tried and liked also include the tawa pulao, misal and Pav Bhaji.
Overall, the promfret thali has great sides and I especially loved the promfret curry and Solkadhi. My friends loved the Goan curries too, which had a good amount of spice. I thought the bombil fry was very flavorful but a little dry.
The owners are very friendly and talking to them made our visit even better! Highly recommended to visit for the fish dishes and solkadhi.
We tried the fish thali and Malvani chicken, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic and perfectly prepared.
The owner, Abdul, is incredibly warm and friendly, happily customizes meals to our taste, and personally checks in after meals to ensure everything is perfect.
The restaurant itself is spacious and spotlessly clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving flavorful Malvani food!
We ordered Sabudana Wada, Pavbhaji and Misal Paav. All three had authentic Mumbai taste.
Sabudana Wada was nice and crispy from the outside. It was served with Tamarind chutney and green chutney… It would taste even better with Dahi I feel.
Pavbhaji was so buttery and it had very homey taste. Unlike other few Pavbhajis in the bay area where they overload it with spices. Perfect subtle taste to Bhaji.
Misal is Mamledar Misal style, Made of Watana and it is spicy like how Misal should be!
“It isn’t a Puneri or Kolhapuri Misal”, said the owner talking about it. He seems passionate about taste and preparation styles. He said, this location is going to be more focused on coastal cuisine.
We can’t wait to try more of what this place has to offer.
Shrimp Sukha – very good. It has a coconut base
Pomfret Fry – awesome. The right crispy outside and soft inside.
Butter Naan – very good. It was soft fluffy and not too thick
Sol Kadi – I got this to-go. It was good. I have had better though.
I don’t have the best photos because we forgot to take them as soon as the food came.
Service – very prompt, courteous. I think it was the owner that took our order and they were very good about sharing information and giving recommendations.
For a weekday evening it was decently full. Plenty of parking spots available. The restaurant is the same as where Sala Thai was and if my memory serves me right, the decor hasn’t been changed. I would definitely recommend and come back myself with the family
