Walking in, I almost wondered if I was in a sketch. The place was incredibly neat and spotless, and the dozen or so workers behind the counter were all working diligently. It seemed like a Los Pollos Hermanos.
Their menu is relatively standard diner fare but the special was half a charbroiled chicken for 14$. Not bad! I ordered it with a salad and rice (the menu could be a bit more clear about the options) and it came out relatively quickly.
The chicken was fantastic. It was incredibly juicy with a subtly seasoned skin. Compared to Caveman Kitchen down the street it was significantly larger and moister for about the same price. Even the salad, which I would normally expect to be a dry or wilted afterthought, was fresh, crisp, and sizable, with a delicious spicy dressing.
This was an insane quantity of food for the price, and well cooked to boot.
My only complaints would be that the salsa was not really pleasant, and it is true that the workers flitted around quite a bit so it was hard to get their attention. But the cleanliness of the place definitely makes up for that in the service department.
I was really pleasantly surprised by Olympian Burgers and it’s given me reason to reconsider the numerous Mexican adjacent diners and burger joints throughout LA.
I’d only heard the name “Olympic Burger” before, but finally tried it for the first time today – and wow, my mouth could barely contain all the generous fillings! This is absolutely incomparable to In-N-Out, which seems sparse by comparison.
The burger is loaded with fresh vegetables, and the beef patty appears to be twice as thick as other burger joints. What impressed me most was the sauce – it’s not overly aggressive, allowing the fresh ingredients to shine through in perfect harmony. The overall experience feels like a homemade burger lovingly crafted by mom in her kitchen.
While the East Coast has many famous burger chains, it’s rare to find something of that caliber in LA. Olympic Burger truly rivals those renowned East Coast establishments. You absolutely must try it yourself!
They sell a lot of grilled chicken. It’s very good. I’ve been a satisfied customer for about 15 years.
You won’t be disappointed. Recently bought a double Cheeseburger at ASTRO Burger for $12.+ It was good.
Olympian uses higher grade quality meat, and the buger is about $10.
We made a great choice going to Olympian Burgers
