We had the pleasure of dining at Maharaja Indian Cuisine not once—but twice during our stay in Interlaken because the food was just that good!
From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. We met the owner, Jasvir Singh, who hails from Punjab and has been in the restaurant business for over 15 years. His passion and pride in serving authentic Punjabi flavors truly shine through in every dish.
✨ The rajma chawal tasted just like a comforting homemade meal.
The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and absolutely addictive.
And the dal tadka? Spot-on with that perfect tempering and aroma!
Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, made fresh, and served with love. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving real Indian food in Switzerland.

This is not authentic Indian food. The dal had no flavour, the chicken was dry and overcooked. The only saving grace of the evening was the server who was really nice and very helpful- but the food was a total let down. Not coming here again.

From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality of the staff made us feel welcome. The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for couples and families alike. We decided to order Karahi Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Naan bread, and White Rice, salad. As soon as the food arrived, we could tell that everything was freshly prepared and served with care.
The Karahi Chicken was rich in spices, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. The Tandoori Chicken was tender on the inside, with just the right smoky taste that comes from the traditional clay oven style of cooking. The Naan bread was soft, warm, and fluffy, an ideal accompaniment to the curries, and the White Rice balanced everything out beautifully. Each dish had the authentic taste we were hoping for, and in fact, it exceeded our expectations.
The portion sizes were generous for the price, and the quality of the food was top-class. We could clearly tell that the chef takes pride in preparing each meal with traditional Indian spices and dedication. Being travelers in Switzerland, having such delicious Indian food truly made our day memorable.

Maharaja is one of the famous Indian restaurants in Interlaken, I visited one evening hoping for some authentic indian food. They don’t have an extensive menu but the items they serve are good enough. I tried vegetable pakoda and parathas they were not absolutely authentic but there was nothing to complain about. Service was real quick, staff here are very courteous. Prices are debatable but it is at par with other indian restaurants around.

And am I glad I did because we had a phenomenal experience. The food was timely on delivery, the drinks were great and the food was fan-freaking-tasty-tastic!..not overly spicy and priced right. The owner Jasbir got confused on our confusing orders (happens all the time with our group ) and didn’t even charge us for the confusion. The food really is authentic Punjabi Indian. Now I’ve been taking diet medicine and I still finished every dish that I had ordered. It’s that good. Highly recommended for a tasty, reliable experience!

Amazing work by this panjabi family. It’s best Indian food you can have in this city. The family is so friendly and supportive. They also give options for jain food. This is the best food I could have ever eaten in Swiss. You should 100% try this place before going to anywhere else.
