It was really good! Better than we expected.
I had the burnt ends with coleslaw and grits and everything was good.
My husband had the ribs and they were perfectly cooked.
We will definitely visit again whenever we are in the area.

This was an amazing place! The atmosphere, the views of Lake Watauga, and the service were all perfect! And the food?!! We had 2 of the 2 meat platters – 2 orders of baby back ribs, 1 burnt ends, and 1 pulled pork. Amazing!! None of it needed sauce – the flavors were on point but their original sauce was so good we had to buy a bottle to take home. Then there were the GRITS – I love grits and am pretty picky about my grits. I have NEVER had grits like these!! They were soo good!!!! Even people that normally don’t like grits were blown away and loved them! Had to order a side of it to-go!! I regret not getting the shrimp & grits after realizing how good they were. May have to find a way to visit before we leave the area.

We will definitely be back whenever we’re in the area. Hoping they make it somehow to the DC Metro area so I can have some closer!

Southern Craft never disappoints and we finally got to check out their newest location. Beautiful views of Lake Watagua and the surrounding mountains are worth the drive. Service was friendly and prompt. The smoked salmon was very tasty and you can’t go wrong with the tater tots. Great place to stop on a day trip.

Server was efficient and pleasant. Food not that good- pulled pork already had bbq sauce mixed in it. Collards too much spice (spicy) inedible, broccoli burnt but not cooked thoroughly. View of lake was nice. Probably wouldn’t dine here again.

Amazing views, great food, puppy friendly outdoor covered deck.
Lovely October Day for our first visit. It took awhile to get the server out there but they were hopping.
Our server was super friendly and she got our order correct.
We loved the freshness of the food!
The burnt end nachos were crazy good! My partner absolutely loved the chips. We also shared the double burger which also was very fresh and cooked perfect:
The cheese grits were phenomenal! Brews are great. Did I mention that stellar view?
Wonderful first visit!

ALTHOUGH this place was packed, and features a great view of the lake, adding a nice full bar, the pulled pork sandwich was barely comestible. I bit into the sandwich and found A HUGE chunk of rind, about 3/8 inch thick and a full inch long. As I continued to consume the sandwich, several smaller pieces of fat rind surfaced. JUDGING from the size of the sandwich vs. Quality to cost, I will AVOID having them in the future. The side of beans too was tasteless.
I have enjoyed Pulled pork from Iowa, to Pensivainia, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, the Carolinas, Indiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and more. Quality is important, but using rind as filler is nothing shy of NOT CARING!

Definitely excellent BBQ and great portions. I had the pulled pork and brisket, and with the choices of sauce at the table you can’t go wrong. My wife had the burnt tips. They are amazing. Now let’s talk sides….. We both had the coleslaw and potato salad, both made there. In the potato salad, they use red skins with the skins on. Best potato salad I’ve had in a long time My grandmother did the same thing. The coleslaw, again some of the best. I love the rich and creamy with shreds of cabbage. Worthe stopping by. We had a table with the lake view and our server was great and very knowledgeable. Just a reminder, tip cash. Ps. they have some great mixed cocktails.

Beautiful view of Watauga Lake. The food is good and they make a tasty Old Fashioned! The wait was a bit long 45ish minutes, but it was a Saturday evening so it was expected.

From the friendly employees- to the food (which is excellent)- to the prices of cocktails during ‘Happy Hour’… There’s no reason why I wouldn’t love this place. What makes it even better , is the view from your table. Quaint and well polished.
