To finish, we shared a slice of their Carrot Cake, and it was the perfect ending — moist, not overly sweet, and topped with creamy frosting that tied the whole meal together.
Our server, Charlotte, was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The restaurant had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that made the evening even better.
We’ll definitely be coming back soon — highly recommend The Tavern Village for anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable meal in the area!
It was shiny & appealing on the outside; full of promise… but, as I’d pressed the gas to get up to the speed limit, something up and quit mid-way through… (the car made a popping noise & sputtered to a complete, grinding stop on the “Evergreen P. Floating Bridge.”) And I feel like this meal was “over” too, right after it had begun… service was abysmally slow. My meal, pedestrian at best & when I reviewed the bill, the waiter had over-charged two of us on the wine. We had to request more water, spoons for sharing dessert & even appetizer plates at the beginning of the meal, and, of course the correct adjustment on the bill at the end.
So about that used car, I left it sitting on the interstate, it was a very bad deal. I told the salesman it had broken down & he asked where in an accusatory tone—I told him, you will find it exactly where it broke down… in the middle of the floating bridge… anyway, no more old Volvos & no more Village Tavern.
To start, my orange juice never arrived. After waiting about 20 minutes, I requested a decaf coffee instead. Unfortunately, service did not improve from there.
When the food finally arrived, it was both incorrect and cold. We ordered three steak and eggs and two eggs Benedict. Instead, three filet Benedict and only one eggs Benedict were brought to the table. Two of the filet Benedict dishes were undercooked, with the meat an unusual red color, and the eggs Benedict that did arrive was cold. The final eggs Benedict never came out at all, leaving one person in our party without a meal.
Due to the poor quality and temperature of the food, we were only able to eat about half of what was served. To make matters worse, we never received coffee refills.
We expressed our dissatisfaction to the waiter, but the manager never came to our table to address the issues.
We have been coming to this restaurant for many years, but the quality, quantity, and level of service have significantly declined. This visit was extremely disappointing, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.
It’s REALLY pretty walking in, hostesses immediately greeted us,l and sat us.
Restaurant approx 60% full with a good amount in the cocktail area
Our server was Jack… and he was prompt, knowledgeable, proactive, friendly, informative and charming. He did a great job!
Ordered brushetta & bacon wrapped scallops. Those scallops can be tricky and we’ve experienced subpar before (not here) but these were just perfect. The bacon was properly cooked, had a mild teriyaki glaze, scallops were seared and moist.
She had the big filet which she loved and their garlic mash is really tasty.
The grouper on the menu is supposed to come on a pasta but I asked Jack if i could have it on the risotto they serve the shrimp on. He said “absolutely, we can do that”. It was wonderful!
The grouper was cooked perfectly and seasoned on point.
There was no way we could enjoy a dessert.
We only have the most positive review on this place and look forward to seeing others post their reviews…. ask for Jack
She was attentive without hovering and had a really bubbly, professional approach that made us feel taken care of from start to finish. I will be coming back.
