We had a good experience at Mama Tigre overall. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was consistently good. We tried the lamb birria, queso masala, unlimited chips with salsa, paneer, chicken wings, and the guava drink—everything was flavorful and well prepared.

We also celebrated my brother’s birthday here, and the staff made it fun with their signature celebration hat, which added a nice, festive touch to the experience. The guava drink was refreshing, portions were satisfying, and the menu offered a nice mix of options. Overall, a solid spot with good food and service, and we’d be happy to visit again.

I recently visited Mama Tigre in Oakton, VA with my son and a friend, and the experience truly exceeded expectations.

From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, vibrant, and full of color. The concept — blending Mexican comfort cuisine with bold Indian spices — isn’t just creative, it’s executed with intention. You can tell this isn’t fusion for the sake of being trendy; it’s thoughtful and balanced.

We started with the Masala Queso, Paneer Kathi Roll, and Tikka Wings. Each appetizer delivered layered, complex flavors without feeling overwhelming. The spices were bold but beautifully balanced.

For our mains, we ordered the Spicy Tikka Fajitas, Paneer con Poblano, and the undeniable star of the night: the Jambalaya. Imagine traditional jambalaya, but elevated with Indian and Mexican influences — shrimp, chicken, steak, onions, and peppers in a richly spiced tomato sauce, served over aromatic basmati biryani rice and finished with a cilantro-mint crema. It was comfort food turned up to level 100. That dish alone is worth the drive.

Speaking of reasons to return, the Tamarind Tres Chile Margarita (an award-winning cocktail) is another one. Bold, slightly spicy, perfectly balanced — and absolutely memorable.

To finish, we had the Desi Tres Leches and churros. Just when you think tres leches can’t get better, they add cardamom, pistachios, almonds, coconut milk, and rose syrup — and somehow make it even more indulgent and unique.

The service was attentive, the atmosphere inviting, and the food consistently impressive. This is one of those places I wouldn’t hesitate to drive 45 minutes just to experience again.

Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to.

Absolutely incredible! Always an amazing experience. Nothing like this anywhere. And service is always great. Found this place because my bff is vegan and they have awesome vegan/vegetarian options

Amazing experience at Mama Tigre! We were so lit off the jumbo margarita and the food was delicious. The vibes were perfect and we loved our hightop seating near the bar. Our server was super sweet too, I don’t remember her name but she had short hair and glasses. I’m looking forward to coming back!

Great restaurant that’s casual with a flare. Indian and Mexican fusion, the menu is large. The masala nachos were great as was the butter chicken taco. The fish taco wasn’t as crispy or flaky but still good. The portions are huge. The restaurant is packed and noisy but overall good experience.

Mama Tigre is always poppin, but it’s worth the wait if you have the time or plan ahead. The restaurant only takes reservations for big groups. It has amazing Indian-Mexican fusion dishes, and the chefs do not skimp on portions. I’ve been here twice now, and there wasn’t anything I didn’t love.

Appetizers:
Guac – super fresh. The Masala queso – so flavorful and unique. The Baja shrimp appetizer – chef’s kiss. Habanero salsa – VERY spicy which I love! Chicken taquitos – delicious.

Entrees:
I can’t speak for the mains that my husband and our friends got, but they seemed to enjoyed them. The guys cleaned their plates. There was only half of the jambalaya left on my girl friend’s plate. I can’t blame her. It was a lot of food. I loved the lamb birria. I couldn’t finish the broth and naan, but I took them to-go and ate the leftovers as snacks the next day.

Highly recommend this local spot!

I visited this place with a friend (though we’re no longer friends now ), and it was truly a wonderful experience. It’s not easy to find a place that serves such delicious food with authentic spices that remind you of home. Everything we ordered was excellent, we even ended up overeating! The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended!

Was feeling like eating some tacos tonight, and decided to give this Mexican-Indian fusion restaurant a try !
The complimentary chips and Salsa was so good, the salsa was so zesty, I could taste how fresh the tomatoes were 🙂
They had a lot of vegetarian options, and I went for the Chili Paneer tacos with some Model Especial on draft. The tacos arrived fairly quick, and was served with a side of freshly made mango salsa, black beans and house rice. The chili Paneer gravy paired with the naan taco shells, just made it a very refreshing twist on tacos and ofcourse I got some hot sauce to amp up the heat ! ️
For dessert, I got the churros, served with ice creams and it tasted delicious!
The food here was really good, I just think that the service could have been a little more upbeat & cheerful!
Will definitely come back! 🙂

We had the chips, salsa, and their special queso dip which is really good. The show stealer was the skillet chimichanga! I had the steak one and I have to tell you it was one of the top three that I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to drive down from Maryland again to eat here.
