With the base of native Mexican comfort cuisine , she infuses an array of exotic and complex spices, some of which are native to her motherland, India, making the ordinary, extraordinary and exciting. Mama Tigre is ultimately Chef Prakash’s freedom to express the divine feminine spirit of nurturing through her play with spices; nourishing and calming, yet bold and exciting.

We also celebrated my brother’s birthday here, and the staff made it fun with their signature celebration hat, which added a nice, festive touch to the experience. The guava drink was refreshing, portions were satisfying, and the menu offered a nice mix of options. Overall, a solid spot with good food and service, and we’d be happy to visit again.
From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, vibrant, and full of color. The concept — blending Mexican comfort cuisine with bold Indian spices — isn’t just creative, it’s executed with intention. You can tell this isn’t fusion for the sake of being trendy; it’s thoughtful and balanced.
We started with the Masala Queso, Paneer Kathi Roll, and Tikka Wings. Each appetizer delivered layered, complex flavors without feeling overwhelming. The spices were bold but beautifully balanced.
For our mains, we ordered the Spicy Tikka Fajitas, Paneer con Poblano, and the undeniable star of the night: the Jambalaya. Imagine traditional jambalaya, but elevated with Indian and Mexican influences — shrimp, chicken, steak, onions, and peppers in a richly spiced tomato sauce, served over aromatic basmati biryani rice and finished with a cilantro-mint crema. It was comfort food turned up to level 100. That dish alone is worth the drive.
Speaking of reasons to return, the Tamarind Tres Chile Margarita (an award-winning cocktail) is another one. Bold, slightly spicy, perfectly balanced — and absolutely memorable.
To finish, we had the Desi Tres Leches and churros. Just when you think tres leches can’t get better, they add cardamom, pistachios, almonds, coconut milk, and rose syrup — and somehow make it even more indulgent and unique.
The service was attentive, the atmosphere inviting, and the food consistently impressive. This is one of those places I wouldn’t hesitate to drive 45 minutes just to experience again.
Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to.
Appetizers:
Guac – super fresh. The Masala queso – so flavorful and unique. The Baja shrimp appetizer – chef’s kiss. Habanero salsa – VERY spicy which I love! Chicken taquitos – delicious.
Entrees:
I can’t speak for the mains that my husband and our friends got, but they seemed to enjoyed them. The guys cleaned their plates. There was only half of the jambalaya left on my girl friend’s plate. I can’t blame her. It was a lot of food. I loved the lamb birria. I couldn’t finish the broth and naan, but I took them to-go and ate the leftovers as snacks the next day.
Highly recommend this local spot!
The complimentary chips and Salsa was so good, the salsa was so zesty, I could taste how fresh the tomatoes were 🙂
They had a lot of vegetarian options, and I went for the Chili Paneer tacos with some Model Especial on draft. The tacos arrived fairly quick, and was served with a side of freshly made mango salsa, black beans and house rice. The chili Paneer gravy paired with the naan taco shells, just made it a very refreshing twist on tacos and ofcourse I got some hot sauce to amp up the heat ! ️
For dessert, I got the churros, served with ice creams and it tasted delicious!
The food here was really good, I just think that the service could have been a little more upbeat & cheerful!
Will definitely come back! 🙂
