We are staying in Philly for almost a month now and really missed home made food. This is the right place if you want something delicious. It was my first time trying mampar soup and loved it so much that when we went back to this restaurant I ordered it again ☺️
I recommend lagman soup too (it comes with hand pooled noodles) and nomad bread with any order (lepyoshka in Russian). Authentic central Asian food and great service. Highly recommend. Best if you come here with uber or taxi, street parking is limited. Walking distance from Liberty Bell Center if you’re here as a tourist!

This place is something really special in my heart. We just celebrated my hubby bday here and it was full of wonderful dishes and vibes. If you wanna try authentic and delicious Kazakh and Central Asian cuisine, this is must go! We even took some food to go, since we are from Upstate NY, I really wanted to take some home with us. Thank you!

This place is amazing! Food is all homemade with love. Hospitality is also top notch. If you haven’t tried Kazakh/ Central Asian food yet, this is the place to try. You will not regret it. Beshbarmak and lagman are highly recommended . The noodles are handmade fresh in house. I will definitely come back for more. Thank you guys!

Love this place with its authentic Silk Route dishes from the countries it crosses. It is completely family run and it shows in the food! Great vegetarian and gluten free option. The bread balls are magical. Thank you! We will be back 🙂

From the service, everything was amazing! I’ll have to come back the lagham (anyway they have them) as they make the noodles on site!
The family is there- they are the ones who cook, service, own, live and all that jazz- for any questions.
They don’t make you feel dumb, they love sharing their culture and they will share any insight on the menu they have!

A wonderful experience. Well priced, excellent barbecue (shashlik) and dumplings (mante). The owner and staff are so kind, attentive and happy to share Kazakh culture. Many dishes are staples of any eastern bloc family table and it’s cooked home style. Happy to accommodate large parties and special events, I had my birthday and graduation parties there. Try the compot (steeped apple juice).

This restaurant is great, from service to the careful execution of a wide range of dishes. The hand drawn noodles were perfectly chewy , the pelmeni were bursting with broth inside a delicate wrapper. The lagman stir fried was truly a melding of silk road spices reminiscent of Chengdu, Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine. The lesok salad was a medley of perfectly roasted vegetables and flavorful garlic. The homemade stuffed grape leaves were served warm and had a delicious rice and beef filling which was light and the leaves were cooked
just enough to not be tough but retained their crispness.
Will return again and will spread the word!

It is in my gene, I am constantly craving authentic Central Asian/Eurasia food. We all know they are mostly scattering along Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia but it is never fun to get stuck in traffic on I-95 or Roosevelt. I was ecstatic when I found this gem around South Street area. Came here for my birthday weekend with my brother. Nothing pretentious, a compact, adorable and welcoming place with vibrant ethnic decoration and tableware. Menu was easy to understand for those who are not familiar with cuisines along the ancient Silk Road. Food was prepared with enthusiasm and portions were generous, the multiple level of flavors from spices were unique. The bread basket was Baursak (fried dough balls, like donuts but not sweet) and we ordered Shuba, Chebureki, Lyulya Kebab, Plov and Ayran for drink. The highlight was their phenomenal hospitality that melted my heart into a puddle. Shout out to Nick, who had a brief and warm conversation with us after our stomachs were full of happiness. While we were leaving, Nick caught up with us by the door and gave us cookies as appreciation gift ☺️ It might just be a piece of cookie, but this gesture meant a lot To summarize, visualize this: you are heading to your favorite relatives’ home for weekend dinner, family style food, fresh from kitchen, be yourselves, relax and enjoy!
