OMG! We had an amazing experience here! My husband and I reserved a table weeks in advance to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The area isn’t the greatest but all parking is valet and there is security. Once you enter the restaurant it’s like its own world! It is so beautiful and classic. The food was absolutely amazing. Every single thing we ordered was a 10/10, and we go out to eat often. Absolutely delicious, quality ingredients, fresh, came out very fast as well. Our server, Shauwna, made our night even more memorable. She was so kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. She answered all of our questions, made the perfect recommendations, and made us feel very welcomed. Next time we are back we hope she is our server again! Thank you again ❤️

La Dolce Vita is a fantastic restaurant. We’ve been here many times over the years. For our most recent visit, we had a larger party. The service was perfect.

The food is very good for the most part. The Calamari and Shrimp apps were great. The Halibut special was crazy good and huge. The bread was terrible-seemed to be basic store bought. The Caesar salad was good except the croutons were bad. My Salmon would have been good if it wasn’t overcooked. Even with these critiques, this is a must visit restaurant.

The ambiance is beautiful. The garden/courtyard is the star of the show here.

This place gets a solid 4 star for their ambience, food, and service. It does not go over and beyond your expectations, but enough to maybe make you want to come back another time to try another dish. It’s cute and kind of romantic, and the live piano was great. Try out their house wine! That was my favorite 🙂

Came here for my birthday as a recommendation based upon a video someone seen on TikTok. From the video the food and restaurant seemed appealing that was hardly the case after my visit. The atmosphere is nice but the food was horrible. I do not know who were the cooks on 2/26/26 preparing food but they couldn’t have tasted anything they sent me or my table. Everything was salty. I ordered Calamari for an appetizer and it was severely salted. The sauce couldn’t even balance out the salt in the meal. The next dish I ordered was seafood linguine with a white wine base sauce. It was also overly salted and the pasta was under cooked. I expressed this to the waiter and he said seafood is naturally salty……. Laughable. If gratuity wasn’t already included he wouldn’t have gotten a tip from me and I am a very generous tipper. Not only that but my party was served a lemon chicken dish that came with asparagus and mashed potatoes both dishes tasted completely different and they were the same. The lemon on the chicken was so overpowering it burned your tongue. The last dish was a clam pasta which was just left at the table. It was so bad there are no words to describe it. This restaurant is a complete disappointment. They have mastered key elements of a fine dining establishment except taste. For the price that you’re paying for food you expect it to taste good. I should have known better when I saw that it is located on 6mile and Woodward. Save your money and time and just go Downtown, Troy, or Birmingham unless you just want to sit and chat without actually eating the food.

I had an amazing experience at Dolce Vita! While visiting from out of town, I was in the mood for Italian food, and this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The service, food, and ambiance were all exceptional. I also had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, who was actively involved, which contributed to my fantastic five-star experience. I will definitely return!

Location isn’t really the best part of Detroit, but the place was really cool / classy, I liked the vibes. I really wanted it to be good. The service was a bit slow / off, waiter was nice but everything seemed very disorganized. The food quality was good, but the food really lacked flavor and was pretty bland.

Amazing Food and Impeccable Service at La Dolce Vita!

La Dolce Vita is a must-visit! The atmosphere is chic and the service (thank you, Shonna and Greg!) is top-tier—friendly, patient, and full of great recommendations.
The food truly stole the show. The Chilean sea bass was incredible, and the lobster Cajun pasta had the perfect blend of spices.
Highly recommend this spot. We can’t wait to go back!

Been t La Dolce Vita many times and I always like their food. However, last Thursday, the food was not that great. The food was salty. I ordered their specialty menu and it costs $70. I wasn’t happy about it because everything was salty. All of my guests said the same thing too.

La Dolce Vita has great ambience, but is not what I consider to be fine dining, I guess it is a want to be. This restaurant is also in the hood. I picked this restaurant because I thought it was going to be authentic Italian and IT IS NOT. I came to celebrate my girlfriend birthday. They started us off with cold bread, a 1st for me. We then ordered scallops, they were over cooked and small but I liked the taste of them. Furthermore, one of my scallops was broken or missing. My girlfriend ordered a platter that included lamp chops, salmon, a few shrimp, mashed potatoes, and asparagus that was $125. Her platter was not worth $125, if everything wasn’t overcooked I think they could’ve gotten away with it. I seen a picture of someone mashed potatoes in the reviews and they look nothing like ours did. She had to send her lamb chops back 3 different times, and the last time they took them away and offered to desert in place of it. Which I feel she should have been getting anyways for her birthday for free. This is how I felt before seeing the ticket. I got pasta with steak cooked medium and shrimp as my protein. The steak was well done, had to send it back although I didn’t want to. The new steak bites came back med rare, but I knew I was going to put them in the microwave when I got home to cook them up. But for $70 pasta, it should have been done correctly the first time. If I had known the price prior, I would’ve sent it back, along with the salmon and scallops. The server was great, she along with other great front of the house staff apologized for the mistakes. Also, my first choice was going to be the lasagna, but the couple beside me had plastic wrap in the lasagna and it wasn’t a small piece. Very long plastic that could’ve potentially choked him. To top that situation off, the chef sent the server to apologize. I didn’t see a manager or chef the entire stay. Nothing on the actual menu was very expensive, but the featured items are very overpriced and I’ve been to many fine dining places with top notch service. Nothing special was done for my gf for her birthday, every fine dining restaurant I’ve celebrated at always give a birthday card with confetti on the table, but not this restaurant. The server did not ask if we were celebrating anything. The host had an open bottle at the host stand, and answered the phone for add on guest in the dining room which is unacceptable in fine dining. The only things worth the price on my tab was my lemon drop, and the tip, which was already included, but I didn’t see that anywhere on the menu or etc. If this is going to be a fine dining restaurant, the whole place needs to be evaluated. Even the small things like the salad forks were never removed although we didn’t order a salad. I won’t be back, and will be telling others I know not to even give this place a try. Not because of the mistakes cause things happen but because how it was handled.

I’ve never been to a restaurant where our waitress was very clearly intoxicated. It was quite uncomfortable so we had to ask for another waitress who was better. On top of that they stopped my partner because he couldn’t wear a hoodie but he was wearing a crewneck. Mind you the staff looked a mess themselves! We ordered the lamb chops and seafood pasta. It was ok but much too rich and salty. The food is definitely not worth the price.
