Here are some updated pics and video of our recent visit. The Play Area isn’t large but perfect for smaller children. My Littles had an amazing time!! Food, service and atmosphere was great. They even have a watering station outside for your pets.

A Disappointing Experience at McDonald’s: A Burnt Bun and a Broken Expectation

My recent visit to McDonald’s was, unfortunately, one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’ve always considered McDonald’s a reliable option when I’m looking for something quick, simple, and consistent, but this time, even the basics were mishandled. I ordered a McChicken—something so standard and straightforward that you would assume it would always be prepared correctly. However, when I opened the wrapper, I was immediately met with the unmistakable smell of burnt bread. The bun wasn’t just slightly toasted or darkened; it was visibly and obviously burnt.

What made this experience even more frustrating was that it wasn’t just a cosmetic issue. The burnt bun completely altered the taste of the sandwich. Instead of the warm, soft bun that’s supposed to complement the crispy chicken patty, I had to deal with a bitter, charred flavor that overpowered everything else. Every bite was a reminder that this was a mistake that should have never made it past the kitchen. It felt careless—like no one bothered to check the quality before handing it to a customer.

Fast-food restaurants are busy, and mistakes happen, but serving something as noticeably burnt as this is not a small slip-up. It shows a lack of attention, a lack of care, and honestly, a lack of pride in the food being served. People come to McDonald’s because they expect consistency. If something as simple as a bun can be burnt and still served, it makes me question what else is being overlooked behind the counter.

Overall, my experience left me dissatisfied, annoyed, and hesitant to return to that location. A McChicken should never taste like burnt charcoal, and a customer should never receive food that clearly should have been remade before it ever made it into a bag. I hope McDonald’s improves their quality control, because this visit was far below the standard that a global brand should be delivering.

Skip this location! Stopped here for lunch. Sat at a table to order table service thru the app like I always do. App doesn’t work so we use the kiosk and grab a number. Not a big deal. Food is ready, they stand at the counter and call your number. I got up and met the worker half way. This isn’t how table service is supposed to work. She noticed a shamrock shake missing and said she would be right back with it. So far not terrible… I noticed there were no napkins so i went looking. There’s is no napkins, ketchup packets, straws, plastic ware,or anything that a customer can get to themselves so I go stand at the counter to get napkins and the shake that was forgotten. Stood there for at least 10 minutes being ignored. At least 5 different workers saw me standing there and walked by multiple times. Finally someone asked if I needed anything. “Yes, your worker was supposed to bring out a shamrock shake 10 minutes ago.” He gets me the shake and I go back to my table. At this time I decided that since all my food was now cold, I didn’t want it anymore. They can’t provide even half way decent customer service, they don’t deserve my money. Took the entire tray back up to the counter and requested a refund. Got that and went to burger king down the street.

So i have high blood pressure and i try to eliminate any extra salt when i order. I ordered a no salt double quarter pounder which i got. Plus i ordered a medium NO salt fry.. They had the audacity to bring my food to my table double salted with SALT packets on the tray!! Talk about being petty about that.

This is the most mismanaged franchise I’ve ever seen. They open say they prioritize the drive through, took food from our order and transferred it to a drive thru order to keep the line moving. Said they would remake our order fresh. I have always assumed that my order would be fresh, but this is fast food not wait for others food. People should be served in the order they arrive and pay. Never have I seen them take part of an order out of a bag and give it to someone else. Nice to get part of our order fresh, but the rest of it sat there while they remade it. Cold fries are awful I don’t care who’s they are. If you can’t run your operation fairly or quickly maybe you should visit Chick-fil-A at the next exit, that is where we stopped after pitching the awful food you served us. We asked for you to cancel our order and give us back our money but nobody knew how to do that. Perhaps better training is needed or maybe you should either go back to old fashion cash registers or fully AI, because where you are at now isn’t working. Want to know why your sales are lagging, simply visit your place unannounced and you will have your answer. Done with McDonald’s.

Visited this mcdonald’s on new years 2026 and I just want to acknowledge the manager, I believe her name is Trell, she’s gave great customer service, thank you. Wish she could train the employees at the Charleston hwy store because that’s the closet store to my home and I’ll bypass every time and burn the gas to go elsewhere for good servicd.

Ordered online for dine-in as it was only 10pm and they close at 12:59am. When we got there dining room was locked and we had to go around to drive-thru. When we got our order my apple pie was missing, the fries had no salt, and they forgot my sauce. Overall my experience was unacceptable. This is not my first bad experience here, yall need to do better.

Please avoid this place! Picked up 1 item: large sweet tea. Waited for 10 minutes. A bag was placed on the counter and no one said a word. Asked about status of tea and employee pointed to the bag. This is after I waited another 10 minutes. Awful customer service. I’m sure the food is terrible. Wouldn’t waste my money here.

I eat here a couple times a week because it is the closest to my business. Used to be quite good, but the past 6-9 months have been hit or miss, with more miss than hit.

Today at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon, I mobile ordered a 2 cheeseburger meal, large fry, large coke, and an apple pie, FROM the parking lot.

Waited maybe 5 minutes before going in. Saw my order on a counter in the prepped area. Had to wait another 5 minutes before I got it. I looked when I got to my car to be sure I got everything and I was short a cheeseburger. Went back in and was given the cheeseburger. As I was driving away, I started to eat the fries, and they were cold. Not kinda warm, COLD. The counter AND drive thru were busy, so I thought it would all be fresh. Despite having to go back for the forgotten 2nd cheeseburger, it itself was barely warm, and the other was also cold like the fries.

I will give credit to the young man who attended to me and got the 2nd burger. Very polite and respectful. But the overall management, as well as the food, is far less to be desired. I would consider going to another McDonald’s franchise, but the three closest are even worse, and the best is 15-20 minutes away. Kinda takes away from the purpose of fast food.

Totally unacceptable, especially with reading all these reviews stating much of the same.

This is the McDonald’s franchise at 2425 Sunset Blvd in West Columbia SC. I dont have the store number as I didn’t get a receipt back.
