Beef carpaccio and the vermicelli bowl were good. Banh cuon was so so, I had better one where else. Bun hen wasn’t authentic probably because they couldn’t find the ingredients. I would stick with the more popular dishes like bun bo hue or special pho here.

The place looks old, yet it is clean. The grilled pork was not freshly grilled. The spring rolls were too sweet. Maybe we did not order the best dish of them.

Food was good. Noodles cooked properly and meat was tender and soft! But portions were not that big, i think small size is enough only when you order side dishes. Good to visit when you’re around nanaimo area!

I usually get the bonbohue and it comes out pretty quick and is quite tasty. I heard the restaurant is more based on central Vietnam flavours compared to North or south. It seems like a local favourite for my Vietnamese friends.

3.9/5 overall

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Recently, they’ve recently made some changes to their menu that I am not a fan of. It’s a very deceiving change.

They added an XL size pho to their lineup as a $5 upgrade option. Their XL portion size is the same size as the large size as before. Their large size now is the small size of the past.

I feel that for $15.25 for a ‘small’ pho is overpriced for what you get when an actual large size pho can still be found at other restaurants in the neighborhood for a larger portion size at the same price. The value doesn’t add up here anymore.

For this reason alone, I don’t see myself coming back.

Tired the beef 7 ways. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of all the different ways. I was too busy eating the delicious food!! I loved that I could make my own wraps!! The decor isn’t the best but it does add to the experience of eating here!! The service was great the staff is super friendly! For what you pay, you def get the value!! This beef 7 ways fed three of us!! Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to this place for years for their BBH and everytime, their longtime server would recognized us and know exactly what we need to order.

The decor is your typical Vietnamese decor (OG style—fake flowers, colorful wall paintings, etc), but perhaps that’s the charm.

We’ve also tried their Bo 7 mon and hot pot, would highly recommend if you have more than 2 people with you. They also serve bottled beers but you will rarely see people drink.

Unfortunately I heard from the server that they will be moving location to Burnaby and that is truly unfortunate because it will be far for us. There is a demolition happening and that’s why they have to relocate.
Love this place and sad to see this location go.

We definitely didn’t come for the service. It was Sunday night and there was only one server. She was extremely busy so had to keep reminding her for more tea, napkins, and rice paper.

My family wanted to try the beef 3 ways. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours were delicious especially the dipping sauce for the rolls. However the spring rolls was extremely salty and the skin was chewy.

The chicken wing were on the small side, had maybe 5 pieces but flavours were good. The bun Bo hue was good but it wasn’t the best I ever had. The steamed tapioca dumplings in banana leaf and beef sausages was probably my favourite out of it all.

Been for several meals at Song Huong. Can’t go wrong with their BBH but they also offer some hard to find Viet specialty dishes.

Service was friendly and teapots were occasionally refilled. Debit/cash only.

We shared banh loc tom thit goi la chuoi ($9.75), banh cuon cha lua banh cong ($9.25), bo tai chanh ($17.95), bun bo hue ($14.75 large), pho tai ($14.00 large), pho ga chien ($14.75 large), bun ga cha gio ($14.25) and bun bo ba mon ($16.50).

First time trying the marinated rare beef (good, touch frozen) and pork & shrimp tapioca dumplings (chewy). The BBH is always a reliable winner. Lemongrass chicken pho and rare beef pho were solid. The three type of grilled rolled beef was enjoyable.

Had a lovely experience here! Service was friendly and the pho was tasty. Everything was reasonably priced. It’s a large, open space and maybe slightly on the dingy side in terms of furniture/ decorations lol! However, I found it kind of comforting, clean, and family-friendly. I’d definitely go back! Thank you ☺️
