The food is really amazing. We needed up coming second day as well before leaving the city. The food is really affordable as well. We ordered a lot of food between just two people but still ended up having everything because it was delicious. They have all day breakfast which’s really amazing too! The staff is really friendly as well.

When we entered the restaurant, we were advised by another customer that the food is good but don’t expect much from services, also has a lot of wait to get food and bill.
I agree to the point that the food is really good. We ordered veg dum biryani and gobhi 65, whereas friends ordered chicken dum biryani. All was alike the taste in Hyderabad and similar in spice level. I also had buttermilk and it was ok. The service was ok, we didn’t have delays for order or bill payment. The surrounding or ambience was ok and a bit noisy being rush dinner hour over weekend. I recommend the restaurant.

We came here as a group of 6 and everything was SO good! Big portions, full of flavor, and the service was great too.We started with Karam Dosa and Keema Dosa—both were crispy and HUGE, and came with 3 chutneys + sambar. Super tasty and fresh.
We also shared the Lamb Biryani and Chef’s Special Chicken Biryani—both were super flavorful and cooked just right. Lamb was soft and the chicken had a nice spice. The Butter Chicken was creamy and rich, and their Garlic Naan was soft and buttery—perfect with the curry.
To finish, we had Irani Chai—so good! Warm, strong, and slightly sweet. Just perfect after a big meal. The vibe inside was chill and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helped us pick a few things from the menu too.everything tasted great, portions were big, and the food came out fast. Definitely recommend Golconda Chimney and we’ll be back soon!

I was really looking forward to trying Golconda Chimney after hearing about their authentic Indian cuisine, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a disaster. We placed a large order and explicitly requested everything to be mild, as I was dining with my husband, who is from India and is used to authentic spice levels.
However, what we received was the exact opposite-almost every dish was painfully spicy, to the point that even he couldn’t eat it.
Our Order:
1. Chicken Manchow Soup (Mild) –
This was supposed to be a comforting and flavorful soup, but instead, it was extremely spicy. Despite requesting mild, the spice level was through the roof. It was so overpowering that we couldn’t even get through a few spoonfuls. The heat completely masked any flavor the soup might have had.
2. Chicken Dum Biryani – We expected a fragrant, perfectly cooked biryani, but what we got was a dry, overly spicy dish that lacked the depth and complexity a good biryani should have. Even the raita that came with it couldn’t cut through the overwhelming heat.
3. Goat Dum Biryani – Another disappointment. The goat was tough and overcooked. Once again, despite requesting mild, the spice level was off the charts.
4. Butter Chicken – This was perhaps the most shocking of all. For $21, we received 6 small pieces of chicken drowned in an overly rich, spicy sauce that had no balance. Butter chicken should be creamy, mildly spiced, and packed with subtle flavors, but this dish missed the mark completely. Not only was it overpriced, but the heat was overpowering.
5. Malai Methi Murg – This dish was an oily nightmare. There was so much oil floating on top that it was difficult to even stir the curry. The excessive oiliness made it feel heavy and greasy, and once again, the spice level was beyond what we had requested.
6. Garlic Naan & Butter Naan – The only redeeming part of the meal.
Both types of naan were fresh, soft, and well-prepared. But let’s be honest-good naan isn’t enough to salvage an otherwise terrible meal.

The Biggest Disappointment: What made this experience even more frustrating was that everything except the naan was ordered “mild.” Despite our clear request, every dish came out overwhelmingly spicy, leaving us unable to enjoy any of the food. My husband, who grew up eating authentic Indian cuisine, couldn’t even tolerate the heat.

Waste of Money and Food:
After attempting to salvage the meal, we had no choice but to throw everything away. The entire order went straight into the garbage. It was disheartening to see so much food wasted, but the spice level was unbearable, and the oiliness in some dishes made them completely inedible.

Overpriced and Undelivered:
For the price we paid, I expected much better quality and attention to detail.
The portion sizes were small, the dishes lacked balance, and the spice levels were far beyond what we had
requested. It’s one thing to have a dish that’s a little spicier than expected, but this was extreme and completely ruined the meal.

Final Verdict:
I had high hopes for Golconda Chimney, but after this experience, I won’t be giving them another chance. The lack of attention to detail, inability to adjust spice levels, and overpriced dishes left me highly disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for flavorful, balanced Indian cuisine.

UPDATE

Golconda Chimney responded to my review stating that “someone from the restaurant would reach out to me.” Unfortunately, to date, I have not received any email, text, or phone call. It’s disappointing to receive what now appear to be empty words. The situation could have been handled with more sincerity and accountability. If there was no genuine intent to follow up, it would have been more respectful not to make that promise. Weeks have passed, and there has still been no communication.

Honestly the best spot in town! I tried the ghee podi idly, paneer dosa, vada, and idly—every bite was just amazing. The chutneys were next level and the dosa was pure comfort food. Totally soul-satisfying! Big shoutout to Vyshnavi for being super friendly and giving us awesome recommendations. Can’t wait to go back!

We visited Golconda Chimney morning around 8–8:30 AM for breakfast and had an amazing experience. We ordered Ghee Karam Idli, Dosa, and Puri, and everything tasted fresh, authentic, and very flavorful. The ghee karam idli was soft and perfectly soaked with ghee and spice, the dosa was crisp with tasty chutneys and sambar, and the puri was fluffy with delicious side curries.

What really stood out for us was the service. Our waitress was extremely polite, patient, and helpful from the moment we walked in. Even though it was early in the morning, she greeted us with a smile, explained the items clearly, checked on us multiple times, and made sure we had everything we needed. That kind of warm service really makes a difference.

Overall, this is easily a 5-star place for South Indian breakfast – great food, good portion sizes, reasonable pricing, and excellent hospitality. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back!

We tried the Veg Manchurian which stood out for its robust flavor, although the seasoning leaned slightly on the saltier side. Both the Golconda Paneer Biryani and Golconda Egg Biryani were well-executed, offering bold flavors, and were accompanied by ample portions of Raita and Salan, complementing the dishes perfectly.

Service was attentive and efficient. The ambiance, while not overly crowded on a Sunday evening, provided a calm and pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant does not appear to have dedicated parking, but street-side parking is available nearby.

I had a very disappointing and disturbing experience with my recent food order. I had ordered **Paneer Biryani** and **Gobi Manchurian**, expecting a satisfying vegetarian meal. However, both dishes were completely unacceptable.

To begin with, I found **hair strands** in both the biryani and the Manchurian. This is extremely unhygienic and raises serious **food safety concerns**. As a **pure vegetarian**, this was already distressing, but what shocked us even more was finding a **piece of chicken** in the **Paneer Biryani**.

We had placed our order with high hopes, especially for the Paneer Biryani, but this experience was not just disappointing — it was deeply unsettling. For people who follow a strict vegetarian diet, this kind of mistake is not only careless but also offensive.

I sincerely urge the restaurant and the food delivery platform to look forward into this regarding hygiene practices and food segregation protocols. Incidents like this are unacceptable and must be treated seriously to ensure the safety and trust of customers.
