We had a super delicious, indulgent dinner here. Everything we had was excellent–definitely on the finer side of eating out–and well worth it. The masa from the “comal” items were super tasty! We had the bone marrow–indulgent and yummy with some pickled onion to offer acidity. The red aguachile that wasn’t too overpowering. We had the grilled pineapple salad that was slightly over-dressed but SUPER yummy. We ordered and enjoyed ALL of their desserts–especially the churros. And we had several non-alcoholic drinks, different versions of non-alcoholic fermented beverages that were REALLY yummy and fun!

We just returned home from this restaurant after having dinner and a few drinks with our friends. We had a nice meal and enjoyed the entertainment, until we received our bill. I ordered a regular rum and coke from the menu for an average price. My wife just asked for a gin and tonic without being specific. We were charged 360 pesos for three gin and tonics. I thought they made a mistake, but they said that was the right price.
We felt that they were being dishonest. Why did they not asked us when we ordered, which type of gin we wanted? We certainly would have picked a less expensive one, which should have been about half that price. We certainly will never return to this restaurant and will tell our friends about it. I guess they figure we’re never going to be back anyway, why try to build up a trust with a potential long term relation with their customers. We’ve been coming to this part of the country for years and stay for most of the winter. Most restaurant in this area are very honest and we keep going back there.

Good besides a street dog begging for food, felt a bit unsure on that one while trying to eat. The restaurant did nothing to avoid the dog during our meal. Otherwise we’ve been here many times before. Not a deal breaker for return.
