I have been coming to this cute family owned bakery for over 8+ years and the taste and quality are consistently good. This is the most authentic Chinese fruit cake I have found in Denver. It is completely different from the typical fruit cakes sold elsewhere in Colorado. The cake is airy, moist, not overly sweet, and made with fresh fruit. As someone who usually scrapes frosting off cakes, I can eat this one by the spoonful.

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with La petite 2 weeks ago, On 8/7/25 I placed an order via their clover online pick up for a cake to be ready at 4:15pm for the date of 8/8/25. I work in Aurora so the commute to Lakewood took a bit of time due to traffic to arrive to the bakery. I arrived around 6:00 pm to pick up the cake, the person who attended me was very kind and mentioned that she did not have the cake ready. I had to wait an additional time for it to be ready, given that maybe their online system didn’t push my order through I was understanding of this. Once my cake was finished it came out beautiful, now given that this as a rushed cake order, the cake unfortunately fell apart on the drive home.
Now I can say this may be me rushing to get home but honestly given that the cake did not have time to rest before it was done I feel like this could’ve been prevented.
I write this review because I never got my refund as I requested I paid for $60 and for a cake to not be ready on time and for it to fall apart just doesn’t seem like good customer service. I had called and spoken to the person who helped me and mentioned she would have her manager contact me. Well it’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard anyone trying to reach out. I’m really disappointed I wanted to love this place as I’ve purchased here before but unfortunately I will not be giving my support due to the lack of communication of this business, here are the photos for references. If ordering online I would definitely advise to make sure that they’re working on your order and not have this happen to someone who has a big event to attend.

Finally stopped in because we were looking for something fancy. This place is AMAZING. All sorts of french patisserie, made in an Asian style (which apparently means a little less sweet). She uses tropical fruits in some of the pastries, to excellent effect. Truffles, cakes, macarons, cookies. Plus some super cute Asian toys and treats. We loved what we’ve had so far, looking forward to going back for more. A real gem in the neighborhood.

They have amazing pastries and everyone is super friendly and calm. The pastries have the perfect amount of sweetness for me, not too sweet. I wonder why they don’t have more customers because their items are so great. Much better than other bakeries I’ve tried like black box bakery or other really popular ones

It has been awhile since last visited La Petite France Bakery near South Federal. Used to be a regular when it was on Arapahoe in South Denver. Still remember it being the only place where I could enjoy Asian style shortcakes in town before the emergence of all other Asian bakeries in the last year or two. Don’t know whether they changed owners, but the store did look quite different, but surely more refreshing, since last year. They also had more drinks (yes, including boba drinks and fruit teas) and Vietnamese pastries. One thing that caught my attention was the durian cake. Heard it was the bestselling cake in the store, but not dared to try yet. La Petite France Bakery is right by Great Wall Supermarket and Super Star Asian Cuisine in the Alameda Square Shopping Center.

Pretty good experience. We had the Mango Mouse Cake and the Green Tea Tiramisu. My daughter said it’s ‘Super Good!’ And I agree. My wife and I love how they aren’t too sweet. Just right. Highly recommended. Wish I had some tea or coffee to pair.

This was my first time here, and I am so glad I came here. The place is instagram worthy and the sweets are so good.
I took them out their box and took a few pics! The moment I took a bite, I blinked, and everything was gone. I even mistakenly ate a little bit of the fork thinking I still had cake on it

I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the extraordinary work you (and your team) did on my cake order.
I hadn’t realized that the cake’s base color would be white while I wanted to avoid white. The lady who assisted me went above and beyond, skillfully adding a beautiful ocean-blue wherever possible to cover the white.
I truly appreciate the extra effort she put in to accommodate my request and make the cake both meaningful and beautiful.
