Tried this place based on reviews. Felt welcomed when we walked in. The service was fast and the place is large and well decorated. On to the food….we ordered the sampler platter, grilled salmon meal and extra sides. For the most part, most of the food was well seasoned. The fried okra had no flavor and the sweet potato soufflé was missing something that made it blah. The sampler platter was good. The salmon was cooked perfectly to my specifications and the brussel sprouts and mashed red potatoes were amazing! Because the main dish was so good, I will come back and try other things and for the live music. They offer live music Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm.

They recently changed their menu, and the way they engaged on how it taste was delightful. Everything was down right delicious, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. But the real reason why I’m here (which I don’t have a picture of) is that Peach cobbler! Hear me when I say the peach cobbler is a chefs kiss! Buttery, crispy, hot and a healthy serving with ice cream. Had on some good jams, great bar options, laid back vibes were really nice. 10 out 10 Recommend! I’m definitely coming back.

I wasn’t expecting much when going here. It was a random shot after leaving a local mall. The food was kind of a creole, I guess. Anyway, I ordered the shrimp and grits. The flavors were amazing! Very well done!! They initially came out with some mini sweet potato muffins that sort of tasted like a banana or carrot bread. Dessert like. A nice touch. Anyway, the food was great and the waitress was above and beyond. We did wait a bit for a seat which was the only downside. For me, it’s a big downside. I tend to leave when my wait is more than 5 mins. Still, a nice little gem. I would consider another visit.

Food was ok, as a South Carolinian I am used to my Aunts cooking but my catfish was good along with my fried okra. I wanted to try red rice but was told it wasn’t the best. My drink was delicious

Heard so much about Coaxum’s, and I decided to give them a try. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed!! I went for an early dinner so they were not busy. I was greeted warmly upon entering and immediately seated. Our server was training and she did a fantastic job! Drinks, salad, and entrees were delivered in a timely manner. And the food was simply delicious. I had the salmon in the bourbon sauce. It was tender and flaky. The collard greens and Mac n cheese were good, too. But that sweet potato souffle is a must-have!! The shrimp and grits were perfectly seasoned and had sausage in it, as well as the shrimp. I will definitely be back to try the steak!!

We as a party of about 25-30 people celebrated a relative’s birthday at this location today. The food was good and I ordered the blackened salmon fillet burger. It was cooked to my satisfaction as requested, not too hard. It was juicy and flaky. The bun could’ve been a tad bit larger considering the size of the fillet but I was definitely pleased overall. The braised collard greens were not exactly what I expected as “braised” but they were ok. The mixed salad looked good and I wish that I had ordered that. The Heavy Hitter cocktail was tasty although I was surprised at the small size. I had to refrain from sipping it before our food arrived. The wait time was a little too long and the entrees came out sparingly. They may have been short staffed but our server could have used an extra hand. She was polite though. The live 2 man music ensemble was very entertaining. They played some great selections and were personable. My daughter had shrimp and grits..she said it was good. The fried chicken was highly recommended and one of the attendees said that it was great. I would visit again..hopefully it will be just as impressive as it was today..just a little more speed on the food delivery. I just took off one star for the wait time.

We were there before the dinner crowds on a Friday evening. Lovely place to get good southern cooking. There is a live jazz band on Saturday and Sunday they are open for brunch, which looks to be sumptuous.
Will be back to check k out the live music and the Sunday bruch.

We love low country cooking, we are having low country boil for our Christmas Dinner. I didn’t realize Cuisine means lacking flavor. Looked amazing coming to our table, even after waiting 30+ minutes. Live music and a decent atmosphere, I’m sure if we were a different ethnicity it would be different. Which for us has never been a problem for us, we are who we are. The price is on the higher end and they put in the effort to fancy it up. The food… why? And how? Where’s the flavor? Blackeye peas that tasted like they burnt them from a can, the no sodium kind. Roasted par boiled brussel sprouts, no seasoning. Plan Jane no seasoning fried chicken! A Shoney’s breakfast is better, atleast I know why there’s no salt. After being there over an hour we asked for the check a second time and the waitress said, “oh, you’re ready the leave!?!” Letting out a short laugh. Lastly we were brought a dirty appetizer plate and a hair on the plate with the lemons. So disappointed, $60 later we are next door at McDonald’s.

I finally made it in, after passing by for years. My boo & I was hungry & stopped in for a Southern meal. I stayed in Charleston, James Island for 8 yrs & am very familiar w/the Coaxums name & Low country vibes. Food was spectacular 10/10 hefty servings & definitely worth the price. Our server was kind & attentive. Food was hot fresh & again delicious. I will definitely be returning to catch the live band, plenty of free parking. Spacious inside. Glad to have a southern delight on the East side of ATL!
