Happy AYCE Hot Pot 开心火锅 in Rosemead is a SCAM!! – Reddit
Reviews
Once seated, the variety at the topping bar blew me away an assortment of veggies, fresh seafood, hot and cold dishes, fruits, and desserts. They also have a fun fondue fountain, ice cream station, and self-serve drinks including fountain drinks and refreshing winter melon tea. Everything was well-stocked, fresh, and delicious.
The overall vibe was friendly, welcoming, and perfect for a group outing. It was an exceptional experience sharing food and laughter with friends, and I can’t wait to come back and try even more items when I’m not on a diet.
Photos included: the colorful hot pot ingredients, dessert fountain, and our happy group enjoying the spread!
Today when I went for lunch, the food was ok, but something was lacking. Perhaps the freshness and quality. I thought I was hallucinating, but something felt off with the quail eggs. My grandma also noted the same; said it was probably fake. As in they were injected with chicken eggs instead of natural quail eggs are much more expensive. The coloring of the egg white was off. Not many meat pieces per order and the meat quality was mid. We got the A set. They do charge dinner price for weekend lunch. We wanted mushroom soup and bone broth, but they ran out of shroom broth. Fresh mushrooms are extra $2. On the plus side, there’s lots of appetizers and free drinks. Appetizers got cold quickly though after bringing back to the table. I wanted to try their dim sum beef rice roll, but that was an extra $6 so nahhh… Broths were tasty. Staff occasionally comes out with grilled shrimp skewers and lamb skewers. Didn’t try since not sure if we need to pay extra or not. Looked like they over cooked the skewers. Dry looking. Parking is limited. Can either park on street or behind the building where it is marked for Happy AYCE.
Not a bad experience overall, but they could improve on quality of the food and service. Would come back for weekday lunch. Weekend price is a bit over the threshold of what an AYCE should be with some stuff being extra charge that should be included if you’re paying that much.
We went on a Sunday around 6:40pm, and the place was not busy. There were a few open tables and yet SERVICE was VERY SLOW. We were seated in a dead zone where the waiter/waitress was nowhere to be seen, and the little button caller was useless (rang like 8 times and no one came to help). Though it got busy after 7pm, our neighbor across the street, who came after us, still hasn’t received their hot pot broth 15 minutes after their order. We had to flag them to refill our hot pot with broth and get our second meat order. Our second meat order was nonexistent, and the waiter told us they were coming as they are busy. We waited for so long and flagged them about our 2nd round, and they still say it’s on its way. Turns out our second round was not added to the receipt. We saw that this waiter had his phone out to put our order, but it didn’t show on the receipt. This was the worst experience I had at an AYCE place.
The place looks understaffed or at least unorganized. A warzone to get any food at the bar. There are a lot of workers refilling the seafood, veggies, and hot foods, but the waiters are just invisible in our area. Train your staff. We spent a lot of money only to get one plate of meat per person.
This is my 5th time going since its grand opening (when it was a Happy Lamb franchise), and the service has gotten worse and worse, and the quality of the available food has fluctuated and gotten cheaper.
The only good thing they got was a variety of fresh hot foods but we’re paying for AYCE hot pot.
I came here to celebrate my birthday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was incredibly fresh, with a wide variety of choices—everything from thinly sliced meats to seafood, fresh veggies, and handmade noodles. Dishes came out super fast, so we never had to wait long to enjoy our meal.
Our server, Lina, was absolutely amazing—she’s not only beautiful but also very attentive and friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed the whole time, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
One of the best surprises was that on your birthday, if you come with at least two friends (three people total), the birthday person eats for free! It’s such a great deal and made the celebration even more special.
This spot is perfect for group gatherings and celebrations. The style and flavors really appeal to both Asian and American tastes. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or coworkers, HAPPY AYCE HOT POT is the place to go for great food and great vibes. Highly recommend!
I went with the spicy marrow broth with double the spices (I felt the spices much later on). The base tier has exactly 4 meat types: An aged lamb, a beef, a chicken and a pork belly. Normally when I do hot pot I like to avoid the chicken because more often than not it’s substandard. However the chicken actually stood out even above other meats which were all excellent. I think they may have done some water treatment to the chicken meat to make it extra tender when cooked in hot oil and boiling broth. Each meat plate I reckon is about 2 ounces with the chicken around 4-6 oz. The buffet bar has all sorts of goodies. Everyone should give it a try. Soda machine is inclusive as well. At the end of the meal I left plenty of room for some ramen noodles after replenishing the broth.
Given my most recent experience, Happy AYCE hotpot is of superb value. The overall food quality is better than what AYCE can usually offer.
Great meat quality. The soup base isn’t as good as the non acye options in the area. Has 3 price tiers. Even the hot option isn’t spicy at all.
Recently took a friend here. He loved the place as well.
very disappointed with the dinner. It’s more expensive than brunch but the food was sitting there probably since yesterday because they opened 24 hours . Quality and cleanliness has dropped to zero and I got diarrhea. There a a few items that nobody touched and left there because they don’t know what it is. Numbers of items less than last time. Female servers accidentally spill soup during refill onto the table and pour down to my son’ s shoes. Never said apologize or anything.Quality of food have dropped but the prices is more expensive at dinner time. Items are lesser, just cheaper. I am not very happy about the foods on the bars. They’re left over, seems sitting there long time ago. I am very very disappointed this time.
I paid 75 dollars for dinner of two persons and you can see the left over on food bars like that,
So bad when compared with last month. You could see items that they put are nothing special or surprise when comparing with 70 bucks for 2 persons. I would not come back. That place is not good anymore. Disappointed
