Traditional European dishes brought over from the old country, served from scratch! Our signature Danish Aebelskivers are our very own familie’s recipe. We make our own sourdough from our cultured starter and bake it daily along with cinnamon rolls, Swedish crepes and Hungarian Goulash.

The presentation of the food left a lot to be desired—it didn’t seem like much care went into it. The omelet meal was hearty and had some decent flavor, but the biscuits and gravy were a real letdown. Visually unappealing and almost entirely flavorless, the dish tasted more like paste than gravy—possibly due to too much flour. The sausage in the gravy was barely noticeable, giving the impression of minimal effort. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Service was one of the stronger points. The staff was clearly busy, and while our server was stretched thin, he was attentive and friendly when he made it to our table.
The atmosphere was pleasant and typical of a diner—casual and comfortable.

I went to The Old European Restaurant today for the first time since it’s been open, and I was wondering why I’d never gone before. The food was delicious. I had the fried breakfast steak ( fancy chicken fried steak) with abelskeiveres, and it tasted incredible. My wife had the ham and eggs ( she’s not as adventurous anymore) and said they were quite delicious, as well. We also splurged and had unique (for me anyway) coffee. Mine was the Austrian spiced caramel and my wife had the sea salt caramel. Both were amazing with a carafe of coffee for refills.
Our waitress, Ashley, was very happy we were there and welcoming for our first time in. She checked on us frequently, but not too much. She is a great waitress.
Prices were a little higher than I am used to for breakfast, but everything is freshly made, and that’s worth it to me. Also, it’s a small business that is worth the attention.
We will definitely be going back for more visits and would, of course recommend.

Some months back me & my pal were passing thru town and happened upon The Old European. Not being locals we took a chance on it and boy were we glad we did. The food was crazy good and the service was just as fine. The hard part was not trying everything on the menu! In the end we still ate way to much. As proof, just take a look of these totally 100% legit and completely unaltered photos of my friend – before & after our meal. Another satisfied customer. Definitely coming back next time we’re in town! Highly recommended.

This delightful breakfast spot in Post Falls was such a wonderful find! The menu is filled with traditional European dishes, which makes it feel like a cozy trip abroad. I started with their Aebleskivers and a carafe of freshly squeezed orange juice—such a refreshing combo! My personal favorite was the savory sausage and cheese Aebleskivers; every bite was bursting with flavor. Their menu has so many tempting options to explore. I also tried the Omelet Stew with fresh-baked sourdough toast and jam, which was just perfect. Other amazing choices include Swedish crepes, German potato pancakes, stuffed French toast, and more! While prices are a bit higher than a chain restaurant like Denny’s, the quality of the food here is on another level. Thank you to our wonderful waiter, Jared, who made some great suggestions and truly made our first visit a memorable one. His attentiveness and friendly service added so much to our experience! This place really prides itself on providing an elevated culinary experience. If you haven’t visited, I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

To start off our service was exceptional. They provided us with free sample of abelskivers for it being our first time there. Which are delicious!! I got the original with my meal and they gave us sausage filled ones, both very good. I got the bacon avocado omelette. Which was good. The sourdough toast which you see them baking right in front of you is delicious. Kids get a free pancake in the shape of a teddy bear or snake. All around amazing food and service!

Fresh squeeze orange juice?? Absolutely .
The service was excellent. The food was good. The Dutch babies in the oak table in Sequim are way superior. However, their bread and seasonal jams are superb.
I think it is a good spot to have a big variety of options to have breakfast

This place is really awesome! Everything is made from scratch and it shows. I requested burnt toast and they delivered! Their country-fried steak was very unique, but still good. And their abelskivers were delicious— they let us sample a bunch for free. Wonderful and speedy service on top of everything.

Great breakfast! We ordered a variety, from traditional Æbleskivers, crepes, Hungarian goulash, and buckwheat pancakes. Everyone cleared their plates, including my kids (10&12) who insisted on ordering regular menu items instead of from the kids menu. We will definitely be back!

Had been debating on coming here, as they have a very unique menu compared to most places around here. The wife and I were going to go to Denny’s and they were super busy, so we ended up here. Didn’t know what to expect, and the food was outstanding! My server was Bailey, and she took care of me! I got the soup Omelette, the Aeble Skiever Blueberry donut style things, and a fancy salted caramel coffee. This restaurant has instantly become my favorite! The menus are very cute, and the inside is beautiful.
