We had a large party tonight and everything was impeccable. Very delicious food. Atmosphere relaxing. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and all our needs were met. Service was really good too. They had live music who was attentive to our celebration and sang a song for us. It was a great experience from the call to book the party to the last person leaving. The other day was my first visit to Blue Hook. I wasn’t expecting much because the reviews I read awhile back when they first opened were far from stellar. But let me just say I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a basic seafood boil that consisted of shrimp and sausage along with a boiled egg and a potato. From what’s on my plate, it doesn’t look like much but in reality it was really filling. They offer a number of sauces which I went with a Cajun type one. It was pretty basic and mild. But that doesn’t mean it lacked flavor. The shrimp you had to peel and the sausage was actually pretty decent. Anyways, all in all, I really enjoyed what I received and I wouldn’t mind coming back someday and trying something else.

If I could give less than one star I would. A group of 12 went in with me. We were excited to celebrate my nephew making it to State. The place was empty. My 15yr old daughter went in first saying there was 12, she looked at her as if she was dumb and didn’t acknowledge her. She came out saying she was rude. We over looked it. Then my older sister said yes there is 12. She replied “Did you guys make a reservation?” (As if the place needed it.) There was a little water toy at the front that my 8yr old asked if he could get. I said yes. So I started to take it off to buy it so he could play with it while we eat. She said “those aren’t free. But if you make a 5 star review you can get it for free!” I said “ok awesome” then she says “yea bc they aren’t free!” I said okay I was going to pay for it before you said that.” Then she replied with another “YEA BECAUSE THEY AREN’T FREE!”
I don’t know why she felt the need to tell me they weren’t for free a third time when I’m fully aware NOTHING is free.
She tried to apologize after we said we were leaving. I would rather pay for a cheap little water toy than leave a 5 star review for them ever.

My daughter selected this place for her birthday. It was the first for me, and it was absolutely wonderful. The host seated us. The waitress was wonderful with getting out drinks and cubing us time to order. We had a nice size party. Appetizers came out quickly, and the food followed. Everything was great. I can’t really do spicy and Cajun, it’s in the title, but the hostess recommended the sauce and that I do mild, so I would get all of the flavor but not the spice and she was spot one. I enjoyed the method of eating with my hands. The place was spacious and inviting, and everyone was friendly.

First time dining here with my mom we’ve heard really good reviews about the place so we wanted to try it out. Everything was beyond our expectations and more we will definitely be returning and this will also be a regular spot for us to go eat at and we even live way out by Cheney Lake so it is worth the drive. I highly recommend this place.

These are the best crab rangoons (crab puffs per menu) ever. Actually has crab not just lots of cream cheese. Could eat them for dinner alone but had to go with the crab boil because, yeah!

I did not start loving the seafood boil until I ate at Blue Hook. I tried it a few times now and every time I had great experience. The food there is so savory and fresh! I especially love shrimp, corn, sausage and crab legs in my boil!
The sauce is amazing because it balanced so well. It is spicy but not hot so even my young kids can enjoy. Last year I went to New Orleans and was able to try their sea food boil at a couple of high-rating restaurants. They tasted very similar to Blue Hook! That actually made me happy since I knew we have some authentic seafood boil here in Wichita!
One tip: If you take the leftover home, do not throw alway your sauce after you finish the seafood. One time I poured the sauce over my pasta and it was like pasta in heaven.
