Tried out Maria’s Cantina in Southaven — solid spot!
Latin Fry Egg Roll? Crunchy goodness. Kids quesadilla meal hit the mark (and yes, I stole a fry or two). My burrito rice bowl was kinda chill on flavor, but the spicy chicken grill bowl brought the heat back. Washed it all down with a house margarita that definitely did its job.
Overall, tasty time with a side of good vibes!

I ordered the veggie platter and veggie enchildas. There were very few veggies on the enchildas. They could have combined that entree with the veggie platter because I had to mix them both together to get a meal. Also the to-go presentation was not good. Food and fingerprints were on the boxes which means no gloves were used in one instance. It was just okay. My food was ready within minutes of ordering and the host was pleasant.

Great first experience. Our waiter was attentive and the food was delivered to our table in a reasonable time. I had the chipotle chicken tacos, which were really good and just spicy enough. My mom had the taco burger, which was delicious.

Food wasn’t great. Not a regular Mexican restaurant where there’s chips and salsa given to you. My rice was cold and the burrito was hot. They placed a hot burrito on top of cold rice. Waiter got me some new rice which was heated up in the microwave. Queso was super nasty. Chips and salsa we paid for was bland. I would never visit this place again. If so maybe drinks only. Food is a no go.

What a gem! I’m from Houston. Mexican food on every block.
Staying at a nearby hotel, needed a bite to eat. Mikaela(sp?) was my bartender/server. friendly, attentive, not hovering….just great silent service. Thanks, M!
Chicken fajita platter was well seasoned, cooked thoroughly and plentiful for 1 person. Even took a little as leftovers to the hotel.
Atmosphere only received a 3 because of the 20+ barstools, 4 were occupied. I sat at the other end for their privacy, and mine. The 1st 2 stools I pulled out to sit were dirty. And the floor in the bar is super sticky…spilled margaritas, whatever. Clean it as if your friend spilled on your mother’s floor.
Despite the floor hiccup, I fully intend to return on my next work trip in the area.
BTW, I also offered to pay for the 2 sheriff’s officers meals in the dining room. Mikaela informed me another customer had beat me to it and already paid!
Great food, great service and great fellow patrons…great problems to have in the restaurant biz.

First time visiting again in over a decade!
High recommend sitting on the patio if the weather is pleasant! Zoey was an amazing waitress!!! The Chipotle chicken tacos are a hit! Rice and beans weren’t edible unfortunately. Definitely would visit again.

Laid back, friendly, and attentive. The food was pretty interesting. Normally seasoning, salt, and pepper bury many other flavors. The cook seemed to not kill the other flavors so, a really tasty meal was the result.
