My first visit to Civil Kitchen today and it was great! I ordered the fish tacos. The side of sauce was savory & sweet. It had a little kick to it ❤️❤️❤️. We had a very large group of people so we had many appetizers & meal varieties. One of the appetizers i had was a cheesy garlicee bread with a maple balsamic dip. Delicious! I went home and told my daughter & sister they need to go have some lunch there the next day. Very good and the service was very good too!

We had the Gochu Glazed Ahi Tuna, which was okay. The tuna itself tasted fresh and the glaze added flavor. However, you might be disappointed if you’re used to a traditional sear. The sides it came with, potatoes and honey chili broccoli, were standard. The Loaded Brussels Sprouts were excellent, though I would suggest less overall cheese and cutting the cheese chunks so it isn’t so overwhelming. There is also a surcharge for using a credit card that was not verbally mentioned and was only noticed on the bill.

The Brussels sprouts and their brownie dessert were yummy, as was the peach and basil gin and tonic. Delicious French fries. Overall average experience. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for it to come before dinner. It didn’t. No big deal. When my food was delivered, I just told them I don’t need the salad anymore. Was then told the manager said I still needed to pay for it, and so did I want it boxed up. I asked to speak to the manager at that time. Was later told my waitress they would not charge me for it. It wouldn’t have even been an issue if they just wouldn’t have tried to charge me for the salad to begin with.

There is a $5 parking garage up the street. Limited street parking.

I loved the atmosphere of this place. It felt like a hole in the wall with 5 star restaurant quality. My waitress was amazing and always on top of things. I got the breakfast burger which was delicious, but the meat needed a little more seasoning. The brusselsprouts were amazing too. They were a little too tart for my preferences.

Given that this was a doordash I expected less than fresh. However the sandwich was missing the sauce and had 1/2 grisly. The miso potatoes were not seasoned and no different from any other chopped potatoes. All the sides were drowning in oil and lacked any flavor or seasoning. The o e saving grace was the fried kale. I’d like to believe that in person dining would be better but the lack of flavor makes me think not. Likely won’t try again but maybe in a few years. Springfield has some good local food but I would not recommend this.

Menu has a variety of choices that seem very tast. The food we ordered was delicious and filling. Will definitely be back and eat there again. The seasonal cocktails are also tasty. I got the Apple Mule…. Loved it

I enjoy this place. I had the blue goat burger and it was a unique take on a smashburger. I had sweet potato waffle fries. I love dipping my fries in blue cheese dressing. Civil Kitchen takes ranch dressing and puts in blue cheese chunks. It actually works a lot better than I expected.

On business in Springfield, our bartender at the hotel suggested this place. First of all, I was impressed how downtown here has improved, thriving and alive.
The atmosphere is great, but the food was amazingly good. I am a big fan of Pork Belly, and their bbq PB was fantastic. The Colossal onion rings were well colossal and delicious. If you have seen my reviews that have been viewed by 40 million people, you know that I do not give five stars easy! I travel all over every week, so if you want to know more about the places I visit, please feel free to follow me.

The food was delicious. Our party of four each got something different. Pork Belly Tacos were full of flavor and very filling. CBA wrap with the truffle fries did not disappoint! Fresh ingredients and the perfect balance of flavors. Truffle fries had bacon and blue cheese crumbles. Southwest wrap also full of flavor and fresh ingredients and truffle fries again! Smash burger with pepper Jack cheese and regular fries. Can’t go wrong with the smash burger! Not a long wait for food and the service was great. Atmosphere was great with lots of seating indoors and outside.

We made an order on door dash and my husband ordered the pork belly tacos and received the most disgusting, unappealing dish we’ve ever seen. We weren’t even sure what it was, and concerned that my husband might not even be able to eat it due to his allergies. After trying some of it it seems like it’s a straight slab of pork belly with a very disappointing side dish. It was not even good. He was so excited about the tacos and this dish ruined our hopes for a good night together without having to cook for ourselves. Why would you ever even offer this as an alternative?!? Please see photo, tell me it doesn’t look like depression era food…
I hate to leave a 1 star review for a reputable restaurant, but I’m just appalled and insulted that someone would even attempt to serve this.
