100/10 recommend!

Everything we tried was delicious! Will be back.

There was a pretty long wait for 6-top at brunch time on Sunday. With the cold weather, everyone was gathered inside. Lobby was packed. It didn’t matter one bit once the food arrived.

Enjoy!

This was my husband and my first time in Alabama and we had breakfast @ Original Pancake House. Oh my, what a treasure found. The service was very professional and attentive, the restaurant clean and decorative of an old style restaurant, BUT the food ohhhh my greatness. Yes, delicious. I had biscuits w/gravy ohhh wee-buttery soft biscuits/ yummy gravy, bacon(4perfevtly fried pieces) eggs over med and cooked as such and potatoes- also delicious and flavorful. If ever in the area, this should be where you have breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Oh the coffee, yes ma’am and sir, was on point. Try it, you’ll thank me later.

Sunday morning – it was busy! We only had a 5 min wait – because staff here kept things organized and moving. Received friendly pleasant greeting and service from the host team. Trisha was our server and she charmed with her southern drawl and kept our coffee vibes flowing. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Just wanted something light to keep me going but not make me so full and sleepy. Went for the biscuit breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon & cheese, and it was a perfect size. Also got the Swedish pancakes but I couldn’t finish all of it. Would come back in a heartbeat.

I loved everything about my visit. My friends and I stopped in while passing through going home. This is a busy location but the wait was only about 15 minutes. We were greeted by Bri who I was in awe because of her customer service and efficiency as the host. Our server was great and patient because I was indecisive in ordering. The food was fast and delicious. There is only one down side and that is the difficulty with parking. So you may have a little walk from parking but it is well worth it.

It’s not even fair and it’s not even close. Definitely worth getting off the highway or stopping by during your morning commute. We were coming from the University of Alabama and looked for the best Southern pancakes and we’re not disappointed at all. Tried to relive this experience by telling the story many times since our visit, but it just wasn’t the same as seeing it in person.

My son and I love omelettes but didn’t expect what we got. This incredibly unique and fulfilling way to create this egg-cellant masterpiece is unrivaled. When it came out the look on the faces of the other customers set it all. There must have been some other first timers like us who looked in shock and awe of the incredible creation that we had just received. And then the other patrons looked very used to that level of incredible breakfast tradition. Our side of pancakes was equivalent of what would be a full plate at Northern restaurants around us and needless to say are one breakfast turned into 3 days of food. Don’t even hesitate. Stop by and see what we’re talking about because the menu is huge and you’re going to have to come back many times to experience all of it. I know we will be.

We had the Dutch baby and the Banana pancakes. 5 stars all around!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Service was quick, and everyone was very friendly! We are not Birmingham locals, but this truly felt like an institution. Would recommend to anyone wanting a delicious breakfast.

Krissy was AMAZING! Helped us to find our perfect menu items to order, was so friendly and aware of all our needs before we even voiced them! Her plus the amazing food (apple pancakes, omelette, chicken links) made this the perfect stop after our son’s procedure at children’s!

First timers experiencing The Pancake House and it was definitely not the last. We found the perfect breakfast spot, just hate we found it on our last day in the city, but we will definitely be back when we come up again. Kris was the best waiter and very attentive. Food portions were huge and you absolutely get your moneys worth.

First tine here as my son loves it and has been before. So we took him him for his birthday breakfast to see if the hype was real… and YES IT IS. Great place for the family and great food. Pancakes are great and they have a gluten free version. Steak, eggs, pigs in a blanket oh LORDDD. somebody help me. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed breakfast at the original pancake house. The prices weren’t bad service was a little weird. Didn’t realize it would take 40 minutes to get a Dutch baby or the Apple pancake I made a note of that for the future so I can plan ahead because I really want to try it. It looks really good. I saw a couple of them come out. We went later in the morning, so it wasn’t very busy and it was also a weekday.
I would recommend checking it out I had a delightful breakfast at the original pancake house. The prices were reasonable, but the service was a bit peculiar. I didn’t realize it would take 40 minutes to get a Dutch baby or the Apple pancake. I made a note of that for the future so I can plan ahead, as I’m eager to try it. The pancakes looked incredibly delicious, and I saw a couple of them being served. Since we went later in the morning, it wasn’t too crowded, and it was also a weekday.

I highly recommend checking it out!
