Normally a good experience. Yesterday was the worst. Pick up our $30 order on way home from my wife’s first post op surgery visit. She was craving you guys. She got her normal roast beef on bun. Extra mayo. No mayo and meet was not seasoned. Didn’t get our fries we paid for. Onion rings and chicken fries where good. But the worst. I decided to try something different from my seafood poboys. Had the cheese burger poboy. Let me say this. After almost 40 hrs in food services. That was the worst prefab Patty’s I ever had. I just figured being a family own place for as many years of great food. They be homemade. That’s what I get for thinking lol.
Any way. We won’t be back. To many other great places around to try.

The roast beef & shrimp poboys we had today were delicious….everything you expect a great poboy to be! Also loved that the staff seemed to be having fun & truly enjoying their jobs! This place has the best old school charm paired with great food & friendly service…not to mention really good prices. Not a surprise its been a community staple for decades.

I heard good things about this place so I went for the first time . I ordered takeout off their official website and that itself was a pain because every single time it proceeded to add a tip even though I’m going pick it up myself ? Why do I need to add one ? So I had to back out and correct it each time until it finally stopped . Second I go to pick it up it’s around 7 or 8pm and the girl at the window asks my name . I tell her and she proceeds to be rude and rolls her eyes , and asks my name again and continues to be sarcastic . Then her manager I overhear him say to her “say thank you” which she does not. Don’t know what her problem is as I’m just trying to go through drive thru and get my food . Then they didn’t add tartar sauce like I asked for , nothing was toasted , cheese was not melted . Won’t be going back . The hype isn’t as good as people say . The only positive thing I can say is the roast beef was the only good one which we did eat .

The employees were pleasant. The food, meh.We had a shrimp and a roast beef poboy. Shrimp was cold and the Roast beef was shredded and dry. The bread was wet as expected but no gravy on the meat at all. Reminds me of a bbq sandwich, not the traditional sliced roast beef with gravy. The nice lady says you have to ask to add gravy… booooo I think they are from out of town. Drink refills are an extra charge. The powdered lemonade is not worth it. Taste test your product. Try gas station poboys. Steal their recipe.

I truly iconic neighborhood po-boy shop, known for its consistency in making excellent po-boys, gumbo, potato salad and more (they do have beer even if it’s not on the online menu). It does get crowded during lunch time and parking can be a little bit tough, but this Tuesday it was the perfect lunch spot to get my fill of roast beef and a Barq’s root beer!

Got the Shrimp Poboy, Jambalaya, and Roast Beef Poboy. Jambalaya had decent flavor and was enjoyable to eat. Shrimp Poboy was nice and fresh, perfectly dressed with an even layer of mayo and fresh lettuce and tomato. Hot and crispy well seasoned shrimp. Unfortunately the roast beef was below sub-par. Roast beef had the consistency of canned dog food, was dry despite the soggy wetness of the paper that held it. Just sad roast beef. God bless the hardworking staff that run this place though. Good honest place that ran well despite the business.

I come here somewhat frequently and have always had good service and consistent Po-boys. This time around was not that. The shrimp Po-boy that I had ordered was made very lazily to the point that I had to return to have it remade. Very messy Po-boy. The portions are not the same anymore. Very disappointed, won’t be back.

I ordered French fries, a small roast beef poboy and a fountain Diet Coke. Everything was good but the roast beef. It wasn’t like it used to be. I found it to be lacking flavor. Maybe I got it on an off day, but I’ll still go back and try something different. Roast beef was always my go to. I will say though that the amount of food you get for the price is unbeatable! And that Diet Coke was crisp!
