In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

Restaurant very clean, I appreciate that. To me it speaks to the idea that pride in your food is also reflective of cleanliness and how it can attract & detract from the entire dining experience.
My eggs were perfectly over easy (medium). The pork sausage links were really tasty, and my blueberry pancakes were really light & fluffy. If you get the sausage & gravy over biscuits (my husband did, ask for one biscuit (it comes with two). He said the dish was good but two biscuits upsets the balance of sausage gravy to biscuits (biscuits are huge). One is just perfect.
I enjoyed my visit & the food immensely, so much so, like I said, I went back twice.
You won’t be disappointed with your meal.
I want to try the breakfast for sure
And the deserts.
It is a great place to go if you’re really hungry. Old fashioned good food.
