I finally visited Hillstone after living right across the street for several years. The wait was always so long that I eventually gave up trying but I finally made it in.
One thing to note right away: every time I’ve gone inside, it’s been extremely loud. The energy is high, but it can definitely make conversation harder if you’re looking for a quieter dining experience. For appetizers, we ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Dip and the Smoked Salmon. They were good, but honestly just okay. Tasty, but nothing particularly memorable. The wood-fired rotisserie chicken was amazing ! The dish was flavorful, chicken was perfectly cooked. The prime French dip was also excellent and very satisfying.
Cocktail-wise, the selection is fairly limited, and they don’t make custom cocktails upon request. That can be a downside if you’re craving something specific or more creative.
Overall, the experience was good. While it’s loud and the appetizers didn’t wow me, the entrées were strong enough that I’d return to try different menu items and drinks at another time.

Really solid place with great atmosphere and excellent service. Food was decent overall and would probably return if I am in the area. The beef sandwich wasn’t quite as good as promoted but tasty. Cole slow was excellent and I enjoyed the deviled eggs and chicken salad.

Great atmosphere and clearly a staple in Phoenix! The ambiance was great and so were the drinks. I think this heirs towards bar seating rather than sit down dining in my opinion. The deviled eggs were good (but maybe not worth it). The fries were fantastic. And the ruby red trout with friend shrimp was amazing! Lots of pieces of shrimp. Perfectly seasoned fish. I’d come back for happy hour!

I stopped in mid-afternoon just as the place was starting to get busy and grabbed a seat at the bar for a cocktail. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in, and the atmosphere was great—bright, open, and welcoming, with the doors open to the patio so you get a nice indoor/outdoor vibe. My cocktail came out surprisingly fast, which I appreciated.
I ordered the steak frites, and the steak was perfect—extremely tender, cooked exactly to temperature, and filling without being too heavy. The fries were a great complement. I’d definitely come back again; the menu has plenty of other options I’m excited to try. Highly recommend!

I would go to Hillstone for special occasions and safe to say they never disappoint but the food is so good I’d go back every week, pressed sushi and shrimp coconut are my favorite, I also tried the steak with the fries, hamburger and the french dip all chef’s kiss. Staff is always kind and friendly

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere was just right, the staff were all attentive and welcoming, the service was top notch and most importantly the food was incredibly flavorful. We especially loved the French dip and the key lime pie was the best we’ve had. One nice touch as an example of the service: my wife ordered a martini and halfway through our server brought a fresh, chilled glass for her and poured the drink into the fresh glass for her.

I have seen a lot of videos recently about Hillstone and had the chance to try it this week! It definitely lived up to the hype. This restaurant gives off an upscale feel and is perfect for catching up with the family, a dinner date, or a relaxing dinner with friends.
We started off with some sushi rolls and artichokes, both were great but the Pressed Sushi was a new concept that I loved! The seafood they used on their sushi was very fresh and flavorful. For my main I got the Prime French Dip which was the best French Dip sandwich I have ever had! The Au Jus was delicious and the roasted prime rib melted in my mouth. For my side I tried the Tabbouleh and it had so much flavor, I loved the corn and mint. Not pictured, the Asian Noodle Salad was fantastic, I’d go back just for the salad itself!

Okay place. The restaurant was packed during lunch hour. The deviled eggs came with only 3 halves. I thought it was a joke and the photo is how the dish came. I did not eat any eggs before taking the photo. The deviled eggs themselves were fabulous. Smooth and creamy. I could have eaten 30 of them. The pan roasted salmon was okay. The portion size was a little small and the salmon lacked any real pizzazz. The topping on the salmon added some needed moisture and some flavor. I like that they serve real broccoli and not broccolini. No complaints on the broccoli. The service was mediocre. We waited probably about 25 minutes for our food and the bartender serving us was mediocre. They do not take cash, which is just an inconvenience to the customer. The prices were on the higher side and outpaced the quality of food and service in my opinion.

First time experience with some work colleagues. Definitely an elegant place. Every single staff member was amazing, friendly and helpful. They changed out out fork and knife after the appetizers. I had the salmon, the lentil sauce/cream was the most delicious sauce I’ve had on awhile. A must stop if you are looking for an exquisite dining experience!!
