Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

I love Whataburger and I don’t know why. The burgers are pretty standard thin patties cooked till well-done, toppings nice and fresh, but not amazing. Service is great. The fries are really good. I didn’t grow up in Texas, so it isn’t a nostalgia thing. I guess it is just consistently satisfying. They are always on their game.

Prior to Covid, I cannot remember the last time I ate inside of a Whataburger. Today I came into the Bandera/1604 location and was assisted at the register by Julio, the manager. He was very polite, speedy in placing our order, and answered our questions about the seasonal reusable cups, which we ended up purchasing. As we were waiting for our food, Justin came to our table to deliver our meals. He was very nice and made sure we had any condiments that we needed before he left. As we were eating, Justin came by again to offer us more napkins and asked how our food was. Overall it was a very great experience and a nice welcome to an in-person dining experience that seems to rarity in a post-Covid world. This location is doing it right!! Keep it up!!

Delilah, the Drive-Thru Attendant goes absolutely above and beyond every time I order drive-thru and has consistently done so since before I can remember. I really cannot say enough nice things about her, but I’m going to try, because she deserves it. First off, she greets you with the most enthusiastic, authentic, and engaged greeting which remains throughout your entire experience ordering and even at the window. She always asks if I would like to try the current Special and is knowledgeable about all of the food itemss, even some of the specials that I don’t see on the outdoor menu but that they are still serving. She is delightful and makes the experience 100% better, when she really doesn’t have to. You can tell she cares about the work she is doing and after a long night (I work nights atm), it’s really encouraging and a refreshing change of pace. Thank you so much, Delilah! Your work doesn’t go unnoticed – keep it up! Amazing things will continue to come your way!

We brought a group of 16 teens and 3 adults here after dancing at Floore’s. You could see the front counter folks temporarily hesitate as we made our way inside. They were all cheerful and quick to fill our orders. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The manager, Evan Chapa, also jumped on a cash register and helped get our orders taken. He was calm, polite, and professional. After we were served our food he checked on us and made sure we had enough condiments. He also gave us his card and said if we ever wanted to stop in again, we could call ahead of time and give them a heads up to help expedite orders for next time.

The last time I went to a Whataburger was 6 months ago in Port Aransas and it was less than pleasant. This experience redeemer Whataburger for me and we may have to make a trip to this location because the service was that good!

Probably the only time I’ve ever gotten fresh, hot fries from a Whataburger in San Antonio.

I specifically asked for grilled onions on my sandwich, and of course when I got home… it had mayo, lettuce, and tomato too

It would really help if order takers repeated the order back before taking payment. Service itself wasn’t bad, but at the very least they should confirm the order and label which drink is which, had to taste both just to figure out what we were drinking.

Scraped the mayo off and kept it moving, but still…

Placed an online order for a potato breakfast taquito with cheese. After waiting for quite a while outside of the “ready” window our food was brought to our vehicle and an apology given for how long it took to bring out our food. We were assured our food was hot and the full order was inside. When I got home and opened my taquito it poked as though they had made a sausage one and then attempted to scrap the sausage out. More than half of my eggs were burnt and rubbery, completely inedible. At least you can’t mess up fried hash brown sticks, right?

Please address how your staff treats customers. The woman who took my order barely acknowledged me, and I couldn’t help but feel that her behavior toward me might have been racially motivated. The difference in her demeanor was extremely noticeable, she was dismissive with me, yet warm and friendly with the customer after me. That customer was actually about to pay for an item, and the employee in the picture gave it to her for free with a big smile.

No customer should ever feel singled out or treated differently because of their race. We all deserve to be treated with respect, and we’re all paying the same money. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

I went thru drive through on my lunch break. When I got back to work my order was wrong. I called and a woman was nice about replacing it next visit. So 2 days later on my lunch break I went to replace my order. That manager at the time told me they didn’t have a manager by the name I gave her and continued to lecture me about making sure to call the right store if there is an issue with my order. She replaced my order this time but again I had to go through a lecture to make sure I’m calling the correct store. That was unprofessional to me coming from a “manager “.

Food is consistent. When you have to keep the bathroom locked, makes it kind of sketchy. Never had a problem ourselves.
