Social Profile:

Lotus of Siam offers Northern Thai cuisine from James Beard Award winning chef Saipin Chutima. Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

Northern Thai specialties plated in a polished venue that has chic decor & a full bar.

Lotus of Siam is always a great choice when we’re deciding on Thai food. It’s one of those reliable spots that consistently delivers both flavor and quality.

This time we ordered the green curry with chicken, garlic prawns, Lotus Yum salad, a side of sticky rice, and a couple of mocktails. The green curry was rich, creamy, and well-balanced with just the right amount of spice. The chicken was tender and soaked up all that flavorful curry perfectly.

The garlic prawns were a standout. They were cooked beautifully, and the skin was crispy and completely edible — packed with flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal.

The Lotus Yum salad added a fresh, bright contrast to the richer dishes. Paired with sticky rice, everything came together nicely. The mocktails were also delicious and refreshing, a great complement to the meal.

Overall, it’s consistently a strong Thai dining experience. Great flavors, solid portions, and always a safe bet when you’re craving quality Thai cuisine.

Third time here over the years and definitely a decline in food and service.
We ordered stuffed chicken wings (on the menu), but were told they haven’t had them for two years as they are working on recreating recipe. Maybe take them off the menu then as I heard the table next us try to order them, too.
My son ordered the Dad Dwaw. It was burnt and inedible. We sent it back.
My wife had crab fried rice w/ crispy duck. It was fine. The duck was very good, but the rice was dry and lacked flavor. I had the Khai Soi with seafood. I enjoyed it.

We stopped in on a Friday night. The food was good, but the two standouts for me were the prawns appetizer and the Tom Kha with shrimp soup was the best I think I’ve ever had. A lemon grass coconut milk mixture. I wanted to lick the bowl lol. Everything else was good.

10/10. ..I went here because I was told they had mee krob. I grew up on it and nobody in Arizona seems to have it on their menu or they dont make it correctly so I wanted to come try theirs. I also wanted Khao Soi, which is hard to find in AZ, so I got both of them and soooo glad I did. The Khao Soi was flippin phenomenal and a must get item every time I come back to town. The only thing that bugs me is that I ordered a side of white rice to go with it because I wanted to slurp up the extra sauce with something and its a tiny bowl of rice for $3 more. Ummmm rice is dirt cheap so why $3 a tiny bowl, so i didnt dare ask for a 2nd one. I understand charging but maybe charge $1 each bowl. The meeting kron was perfect and exactly what I grew up on. I will definitely be back and try other things as well on their menu. Oh and we also got tbe chicken wonton, good!

Hands down an AMAZING restaurant in Las Vegas for Thai food! it’s the closest to the real deal I’ve tasted since visiting Thailand! I’ve been here twice while visiting Las Vegas and both visits were fantastic. Everything is packed with authentic flavor and the portions are generous leaving you full and happy.
Chicken Satay is delicious even without the peanut sauce, and the little cucumber salad on the side is fresh and perfect.
Panang chicken curry (mild spice level) is creamy, perfectly sweet, and absolutely bursting with authentic Thai flavor! Rice is charged separately, so you might have some extra panang curry sauce left over.
Thai fried rice was ordered to go and it was just as good as everything else
The Royal Ricky is a fantastic non-alcoholic drink if you want something refreshing.
This is now my go to spot whenever I’m in Vegas craving Thai. Highly recommend!

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, as a SEA native. Great regional specialities as well as classic international Thai staples. Best meal we had in Vegas by far.

larb – spectacular

garlic prawn – fried prawn, along with the crispy fried shell. such a clever dish. and the shell was absolutely divine. the prawn itself was a tad tough but it’s to be expected given the hard fry. I wonder if there’s a way to fry just the prawn shelll for longer.

soft shell crab – good, and the green peppercorn was a herbaceous punch.

panang curry and tom yum – great renditions

An Uber driver recommended this place to us. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was very nice. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else positive I can say.

1) Price vs. portion and taste
The food was expensive for what we received. We spent about $110 for lunch and ordered one Thai tea, satay, soup, rice, and two entrées. I understand this is Las Vegas, but even so, the pricing felt excessive for the portion sizes and overall quality.

2) Food quality (no “wow” factor)
The food was just okay. It was acceptable, but there was nothing memorable or impressive about it. We were hoping to be wowed, but that never happened. We have tried other Thai restaurants in Las Vegas that were significantly better—and more affordable. I would not recommend ordering Kha Nom Jeen Nam Ngyow. Although it is advertised as a signature dish, it made me feel sick for the entire afternoon.

3) Service experience
Service was average. The main server was somewhat pushy, while the assistant was much more attentive and pleasant. I honestly wished I could tip the assistant instead. The server did not ask about the taste of the food and, aside from taking our order and bringing the check, spent most of her time attending to other tables.

I don’t understand why this restaurant has such a high rating on Google. I will not be returning, especially with so many excellent Thai restaurants in Las Vegas. The quality of the food simply does not justify the price.

Fantastic flavors—garlic shrimp, lollipop chicken, chicken fried rice, and green curry were all hits. “Medium” ran spicy. Service was friendly but stretched (felt short-staffed). Still worth it. Mention this review for extra smiles—and maybe better service.

I made reservations to this place and stopped by to make sure my reservation was still in place as I call numerous times and the phone went to voice-mail. I stood in front of the front desk for 5 – 10 mins and was not greeted by anyone. There was someone there they were busy looking at something on the register. A new customer walked in and was greeted. I was confused as I was standing there before the new customer. No worries, it’s a busy place so not a big deal. Another hostest came and greeted me. Got me all checked in. Our waitress did a great job in taking care of us and answering any questioned we had. The atmosphere was a little loud I thought. The service was great, fast and tentative with the restaurant being so busy. The food was unique. We ordered a few dishes to try. Everything tasted ok except for the Som Thum thai style. This looked and tasted like green papaya salad tossed in fishes sauce. The Nam Kao Tod tasted like the rice was over cooked almost burned, super dry and crunchy. The rice didn’t have the crispy crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside texture. It wasn’t made with Nam sausage but spam instead. The price for the food was a it much for the portion and ingredients that’s used in each dishes. Overall, was it worth the hype? No.

Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic service by everyone.

I had heard their Thai Khao with whole fried softshell crab was good, so I had to try it

It was extremely creamy and rich, with perfect egg noodles. The crispy crab was very flavorful and a fun experience to try!

Fantastic Thai tea of course, a must!
