Lights! Caramel! Action!: Introduced by Ben & Jerry’s (BJ’s) near the end of 2022, this flavor’s clever name is a reference to one of my favorite pastimes, movies. The packaging depicts filmmaker and screenwriter Ava DuVernay, although I’m a film buff, I honestly had no idea who she was. After some investigating, my ignorance (with no disrespect) of Ava and her work was due to the fact that her genre isn’t intriguing for me (I’m more of an epic blockbuster guy). Anyways, BJ’s official description is vanilla ice cream with salted caramel swirls, graham cracker swirls & gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough. Let me lead off by saying I enjoyed this flavor. That said, I found the salt in the “salted” caramel and graham cracker flavor to be as obscure as Ava DuVernay’s works. Those short comings are made up for by the abundance of superb cookie dough gobs and sweet caramel flavor. In a nutshell, this flavor is a caramel cookie dough ice cream. It’s not “Star Wars”, “Indiana Jones”, or “Jurassic Park”, but by no means “Gigli”, “Jack and Jill”, or “Cats”. Sticking with the movie analogies, Lights! Caramel! Action! is something I would see (buy) during a matinee (on sale) as it’s not BJ’s best film….I mean flavor, but still Doughboy approved

Wow I don’t even know what to say. Went in late afternoon this past week and was greeted to find the Manager Vee walking around behind the counter with just HER BARE FEET!! And If that isn’t disgusting enough, she aggressively cussed out her employee scooping my ice cream right in-front of the customers. Will not be coming back to this establishment, at least until the management situation is resolved.

On Wednesday, August 20th, we visited the Glen location for ice cream. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The place was not clean, ice cream scoops on their floor it was that dirty. Did I mention ice cream was overly sweet, and the milkshake tasted more like milk than an actual shake.
To make matters worse, the staff member on duty came out of the bathroom with her shirt not properly fixed. She was arrogant, dismissive, and showed very poor customer service. She was also the only one working at the time, which made the experience even more frustrating.
It’s very unfortunate, but we will not be returning.

Delicious flavor combos and free samples to help choose a flavor! We had salted caramel bllondie, churro and cookie dough.
They do not have a kids scoop option. The small is $7.25 and consists of two small kiddie size scoops. This worked to get two different flavors and share with one of my children. A large cup or cone is $8.25.
There is limited indoor seating with a few small cafe tables and chairs.
Very friendly service! Check out the weekly specials. We enjoyed swapping jokes today to get a 10% discount! This is the Wednesday special.

Ice cream looks and tastes good. But the place is humid, kinda smells, looks and feels dirty, and the icecream is super soft, like melting soft, and not the good kind of melting soft. Also the lady who was putting icecream into my cone didn’t wear gloves, and her hand touched the ice cream in the bins and my ice cream. She was on her phone beforehand and didn’t wash her hands either.. Gagged internally. I still ate it. I didn’t spend $10 for nothing. Super disappointed in this place. If you want Ben n Jerry’s just get the ice cream from a grocery store that’s packaged. If you want ice cream in glenview go to the froyo place across the street, same prices, feels and probably is cleaner too.

Delicious ice cream. Very clean shop with outdoor seating available.
Would recommend especially on hot days. All the B&J flavors are amazing. They offer different types of cones or cups. There can be long lines as the staff consisted of only one person when I visited. They were efficient but not so friendly which is ok. I think they need to have a second person working there.
This ice cream shop is right next to the cinemas and there are plenty of restaurants around and shops as well.
The one thing that I don’t like is that ice cream cones are overpriced. as of June 2025 the price for 2 small icecream cones was 17USD

I went there for free cone day yesterday around 6pm. It was a big turnout, tons of people. I had to wait in line for a bit, but the line moved fast. When I got inside, the manager Vee was taking orders of ice cream & telling her employees to get so & so flavors. It seemed like a good system, and everyone was so friendly and polite. I got the Salted Caramel Blondie, which was super delicious, just the right sweetness & caramel blondie flavors. Thank you, Ben & Jerry’s, for providing this day & thank you for the employees for your hard work and making it a memorable day!

Best ice cream around! You gotta love the unique flavors- they’ve got everything under the sun in a combination! The chocolate fudge brownie is a smash with both my kids and me. My wife likes “Phish food”… sounds weird as heck but it’s so good! The staff were quick and easy, too. There are a few tables in there, so be wary if ya got a big group and you come at a crowded hour. But I’ve never had a problem! And the ice cream is absolutely delicious!
