We went for breakfast at Sterling’s Famous Steak and Seafood in Richland, and it was a perfect way to start the day.
We ordered the 5 oz ham steak with sunny-side-up eggs, crispy hashbrowns, whole wheat toast, and a large glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and the Belgian waffle with sausage and another large orange juice.
Everything hit the mark, especially the hashbrowns, golden and crunchy, and the OJ, bright and pulpy like it was squeezed moments before. The waffle was fluffy with a crisp edge, perfect for soaking up syrup, and the sausage added a savory kick.
Sterling’s sits right across from Howard Amon Park and right along the beautiful Columbia River, offering gorgeous views from the patio and big windows inside. The ambience is warm and inviting, with local artwork lining the walls, large TVs for sports fans, and a layout that feels both spacious and cozy.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
If you visit, don’t forget to tip generously, these folks work hard to keep the experience smooth and memorable. Sterling’s is a reliable spot for breakfast with heart, great for families, fans of classic American fare, and anyone who appreciates a good view with their meal.

Starting with the good:
Clam Chowder was great! Highly recommend!
Moving to the Bad:
The Steak Sterling was not good! Bartender asked how I wanted it prepared. I said medium rare. After an unusually long time and even the bartender joking with me she was going to go back and cook it herself, it came out Well Well Done. The bartender did ask if I would like it replaced, but the cut of meat was so low quality, you couldn’t cook it any other way so I declined. Ate only about 25%. No discount but I guess that’s because she offered to fix it so I guess that is fine.
2 flags – 1. The establishment was not busy on a Thursday Night and 2. The bartender said everything was good but never mentioned the steak. But since I had steak on my mind, that’s what I went with. BUT I should have listened to the bartender!

The spot came highly recommended from friends and I was not disappointed. The service was warm, courteous, professional and respectful. The decor was modern and uplifting. You can actually see the river, behind the restaurant. The restroom was impressive and clean. The food was delicious. I opted for clam chowder, salmon and fettuccine alfredo, and creme brulee for dessert. The portions were perfect and the food was fresh and tasty. When in the neighborhood I will be returning. Definitely an A1 experience!

Good food, good service. Visit often and they are always pretty consistent. It’s not the best hole in the wall breakfast, but it’s reliable and decent. They have a huge menu that’s available all day. The salad bar is well stocked, and has lots of options. The price is reasonable.

We called ahead of time and they were able to sit our party of 18 for breakfast! We were coming back from court to celebrate an adoption so it was nice to get in right away. I had no idea they served breakfast. Even though we were a large group we didn’t feel spread out in great service. Our food still came out together. The food was really good and we all ordered different dishes (besides the children). The sterling breakfast sauce is amazing!

These guy’s know what they are doing!!! From the time you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and professional help! The atmosphere was awesome! The staff was awesome! The food was super awesome!! First off, we ordered the mussels and the cauliflower wings as appetizers, and the both were amazing! All of the other food was perfect!! The bread Service at the beginning was also good! And OMG, that salad bar!!! Sooooo awesome!! Keep it up, guys!! You guys, so totally Rock!!
