We really liked this place, the food was great and fresh fish. The wait was ok. It was my first time there and I wish they had some rules or something except for telling us if we don’t finish the food we have to pay for it. We didn’t order a lot but it’s okay, not necessarily you have to eat like an animal. For some reason if you order dessert they will bring it before the main course and then they say you have to know about it but it’s not being mentioned in the menu or something. However, this is nothing compared to great food and desserts. I really enjoyed it and next time I will know what I want and how. Funny fact I asked the waitress what the name of the sushi (nigiri) on the picture and she said she didn’t know which is kinda funny. Anyway, food is fantastic, we paid like $76 (with tips!) which was cheap for that amount of food we consumed. I wont go to any other sushi place after discovering this all you can eat place. Highly recommended

I have been coming to Akita for 10+ years now, I never considered their food to be top notch but for the price you were paying, it was extremely worth it. It seems that has changed over the last couple of months.

At the time of this review, the service and the food are unrecognizable. The servers used to be engaged with their tables, which prompted me to tip them well. Now, chopsticks get thrown at you and food takes 30+ minutes to arrive at your table. While our appetizers came out quick, we started to wonder if maybe they forgot our sushi order but that was not the case at all. Our sushi took longer than 30 minutes to arrive, we sat idle with dirty plates and no refills for that time. The servers do not seem to care whatsoever, on top of that, the food was absolutely mediocre and tasteless.

The only time our server seemed engaged was when she got us our check. That she was extremely quick with, I don’t think I saw her move that fast the whole time we were there.

Anyways, long story short, avoid this place from now on if you used to go here often. Not only was our bill $200+ for 5 people, they include gratuity so they can get away with the abysmal service. Seems the owner does not care as they are only replying to positive reviews which lie about the current state of this restaurant.

After 10 years, I will never come back here again.

This was genuinely the worst experience in a restaurant. I had a group of 4 people, I ordered 4 pieces of nigiri and they brought out this slop (pictured below). I said politely it was wrong and I pointed to the picture on the menu. I can write a 2 hours review because that’s how long it took us to receive our food. There was maybe 10 total customers (which I think was too many given how terrible everything is) We had to remind the waitresses around 4 times about our TWO PIECES OF GYZOA.. we never received water refills, or even anyone checking on us. We had to legit wave them down. I have NEVER written a review like this in my life but I would seriously NEVER go back here or recommend to anyone.

STAY AWAY!!

Overall, this is a fairly decent AYCE sushi place. Better than many others I’ve been to because the quality of the sushi is very good. The nigiri is fresh, and the portion sizes are very reasonable for an AYCE restaurant (a lot of similar places give a tiny piece of fish, and huge amount of rice, but not here). There is a large selections of rolls, most of which are really good.

The only negative aspect of my review is the service. It’s pretty poor. I had to ask for everything that should’ve been given to me as standard, and when I needed something at the end of my meal, the server was nowhere to be found. I later saw her sitting at the front desk looking at her phone. I guess that was more important than checking on her customers. I would definitely come back again for the quality of the food, but I won’t tip much if I continue to get poor service.

This place was a complete disaster. The all‑you‑can‑eat sushi was some of the worst I’ve ever had — bland, mushy, and honestly questionable in freshness. I couldn’t even finish it, and when I asked for a to‑go box, they flat-out refused. They would rather throw food in the trash than let a paying customer take home what they already bought. It’s wasteful, it’s ridiculous, and it tells you exactly how little they care about customer experience. My mom’s chicken teriyaki was just as bad. The chicken was bone‑dry, flavorless, and nothing like the menu photo. The picture showed asparagus — the actual dish didn’t include a single piece. And for $18, that’s insulting. Between the terrible food, the misleading menu, and the “we’d rather waste food than let you take it” policy, this place is absolutely not worth your time or money.
I wouldn’t come back even if it were free.

A lovely, low-key sushi restaurant where you won’t break the bank and still have more than your fill of delicious made to order sushi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes. The staff is always very kind and I come here often.

All you can eat. The miso is good with fresh tofu not that dehydrated packet stuff. The sushi quality is good. Not great, but being all you can eat it’s about what I expected. The staff are friendly and prompt with service without being overbearing. The women’s bathroom is cold and quiet with a funky waterfall faucet. There is no Baby changing station. The whole place gives dive bar vibes with better lighting and nicer staff. Worth a shot of you are interested in eating a ton of sushi or you just want to go hang out for a while.

The fish is always super fresh, and I appreciate that everything is made to order instead of sitting out like some other spots. Their spicy tuna roll and the rainbow roll are my go-tos. Service is quick and friendly even when it’s busy. Great value for the price

The food was delicious and you got a lot for what you paid. It took forever to get any of the fried appetizers but the rules came out super quick and they were amazing. Plus they have the cutest cave-themed bathroom with the most amazing sinks I’ve ever seen

We love Akita Sushi! It is in a pretty convenient place and always has people inside, but thankfully rarely packed! The all you can eat for 18.95 lunch special is pretty reasonable. All the Sushi is made to order so you can get exactly what you want. All the rolls are excellent, but they also have a good collection of tempura options, and also many different types of Nigiri. Highly recommend!
