Fifteen years ago in San Miguel de Cozumel, an American family stepped into a quaint European restaurant owned by an Italian family. During the meal they delighted in a dining experience unlike anything they had ever known. With only the freshest of bread and the most savory of entrees, the small restaurant left more than just satisfied customers, It left a spark of inspiration. In the summer of 2008, that spark of inspiration, cultivated and refined, opened its doors to become Mezzaluna.

Wonderful dining spot in Hendersonville, NC. This place provides a lively atmosphere somewhere between upscale bar and restaurant. I hope that makes sense to everyone . The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of what they are doing .
The food is good, very good except I was not a fan of their Caesar dressing , and I thought the lasagna looked a little small. My wife loved her trout and i love the taste of my lasagna as it was excellent and I would order again .
Needless to say we would definitely come back to visit this spot .

We have been to Mezzaluna’s several times, all with positive experiences. Today was different. We were seated within a minute and a young man with dark hair ask for our drink order. We told him 2 waters and that we were ready to order. We ordered 1 chicken parmesian sub and 1 eggplant parmesian sub. Within a few minutes a brown haired female server approached with our drinks and confirmed our order. Approximately 10 minutes later our food arrived but incorrectly. 1 chicken and 1 eggplant parmesian arrived but not in a sub with fries, as it was ordered. The young man apologized and took the food away and our female server arrived apologizing and said she would correct the mistake. About 5-10 minutes later our food arrived in a sub form with fries. The subs were not toasted and literally appeared as if the initial chicken and eggplant parmesian entries were transferred onto non toasted subs and returned to us. There was almost no marinara sauce. The table next to us had a chicken parmesian sub which was toasted golden brown with melted cheese on top and looked very appealing. The server offered to discount our order half price, which she did. I didn’t care about a reduction in price, I just want a good dining experience when I go out, which this definitely was not. Unfortunately this type of experience is becoming more normal than the exception. Probably will not be eating there again.

I love this place. The ambience, the food, the live music, and overall friendly staff. I typically sit at the bar and Jen always starts off with an excellent service of cocktails as I ascend in to a lovely evening of dinner. I love to watch the kitchen run like a well oiled machine. I love watching all the amazing dishes come out ready to be devoured by the patrons who frequent Mezza Luna on a bustling Monday night! The staff at the bar are very well versed and educated on the specials, the drinks and the wines. The ONLY change I would make is to get rid of the barley risotto completely. It’s too dry and plain. Tonight Casey at the bar who is amazing, explained to me that the Parmesan Risotto is different than the Barley risotto. I decided to get the filet mignon with the Parmesan Risotto instead and it was amazing! It paired well with balsamic demi glaze. The Parmesan risotto is already amazing with the scallops! Will always come back for great food and wine deals.

Good food and good portions. I had the chopped salad and Alfredo and it was delicious (but I did add some salt and pepper). The staff is great. The atmosphere is a bit loud inside (good for kids that make noise but bad for those who are hard of hearing). There is also outdoor seating where you can sit under an umbrella and watch folks cruise Main. (My food was almost gone before I remembered to take a pic…it was good!)

We went at night and the atmosphere was nice, but it was pretty cold outside. We brought our dog since the website says the place is pet-friendly, which is true for the outdoor area, but the low temperature made it a bit uncomfortable. We accepted that because we were with our pet, but what I did notice was that the service wasn’t the best. I guess the staff didn’t really want to come outside because of the weather, but we were still expecting the same level of attention as inside, and that didn’t happen.
The food arrived and it was good, though I can’t say it was extraordinary—just average. On the positive side, the place is very nice, well located, and the overall vibe is really pleasant. That was just my experience that night, and I wanted to share it honestly.

Visited from out of town and decided to stop in this place for lunch since I love Italian food. I was greeted by a friendly hostess, or server was attentive but I was not impressed with the food. I ordered the Manicotti and for $22 I got 2 small manicotti’s. For that price they should have at least given a bigger portion or it should have came with a meatball, bread and side salad.

I think I’ve said this before, this is a restaurant for tourists. The menu needs upgrading to match their pricing. Huge disappointment and definitely don’t go hungry. Pictured are two $20 plates. While the lasagna came with a very small salad it measured approximately 3″ x 3.25″ x (almost 2″) compare this with other local places and you feel like your wallets been raped. Don’t get me wrong the place isn’ t all bad. Nice atmosphere and great beer selection. For a $20 plate, maybe some kind of garnish was in order. Sadly I will never set foot in this place again.

Got a pepperoni pizza and a margherita. I’d say it was 5.4 in flavor and crust. I would’ve loved to have seen a better crust. Overall great food!
