YALL HYPE THIS PLACE UP TOO MUCH FR! Went here around 7:30pm, my friend ordered birria tacos but there was no cheese???????
I ordered tacos as well but they didn’t have 2 of the meat options listed so I got 1 beef and 1 tongue… but it was so dry
I was disappointed

Thank goodness there’s actually a place for good Mexican food around here, and this is it, full stop. To be honest, I forget about this place a lot, just because I’m not in that part of town often, but when I do remember, I’ll go out of my way for them, because they definitely know what they’re doing. Keep it up, especially these hilarious review responses – finally a business putting literal insane people in their place!

If you only care about atmosphere, go elsewhere. This is not a fancy place, but if you want consistently delicious authentic Mexican food and great service, what are you waiting for? Dine-in our take-out, Mixteca has been providing great food to the community for many years and it only gets better with time. Newest menu has as many options as any Mexican restaurant in town, and the quality is often better.

I have had numerous orders of enchiladas verdes throughout the years in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces and Mesilla, NM at places like La Nueva Casita Café, Andele’s and La Posta (all highly recommended). I expect to find excellent salsa verde there. I did not expect to find excellent enchiladas verdes in Dayton, OH…but I did. This is hands down the best Mexican food I have had east of the Mississippi…especially the enchiladas verdes and the carnitas verdes. The service is quick, the atmosphere is so-so, but the food is absolutely five stars.

First time here-just picked up takeout salsa and chorizo dip with chips. Both are perfect and I thought the price was fair!

To start, the food was really good. The chips and salsa were the only thing we didn’t care for, and charging $2.50 for more chips is absurd to me. The queso was weird..but good. Fajitas, tacos, burrito, and even my son’s hamburger were all very good. His kid’s plate was the size of an adult entree, my daughter’s kid burrito plate was more child size portions.
Our service was genuinely terrible. I’m not the type to expect anyone to roll out the red carpet for me but maybe if you could act like you don’t hate my guts, that would be great.
The restaurant and bathrooms both need a good deep clean and scrub.
If I lived local, I’d def pick up to go orders here. They seemed to have a ton of folks doing that. Not a great dining in experience, but at least our food was good.

Great food. Very friendly service. Only drawback is that you have to exit the restaurant and go outside to use the restroom. Not so bad with warm weather, but a bit chilly in the winter. Not great if it’s occupied. But the pluses outweigh the bathroom inconvience. Give it a try.

The food is good, especially the shrimp cooked to perfection , but the beef in my fajitas was too thin as a meat lover. I didn’t like it, so on my next visit I will try their carne asada steak, and the waiter Maria was really nice and friendly

Ordered catering for a party and the food was excellent. Pricing was great. It was ready on time, packaged well for transport, the staff was friendly and helpful. My family has ate here before and we have always been happy with the food.
