We started off with THE most dreadful hostess who needs to work in a cubicle far away from the service industry.
Savannah the server was very pleasant and the view was great, those are the only positives.
The tables are very close together, it almost feels as your eating with the ppl seated next to you.
Food was overpriced, husband got French fries with his oyster plate, I had ruffle chips with my poor boy, wasnt given an option and the majority of the plate was covered in chips. The shrimp gumbo was undesirable, we both took a couple bites and didnt finish it. There is a gumbo base kit from HEB that is outstanding. I would have rather stayed home and cooked for ourselves as opposed to spending $50 for lunch. The floors hadn’t been swept, trash everywhere we looked. Restrooms smelled and hadn’t been cleaned. The restaurant was not busy, they have time to clean (unless they were short staffed).
I would not be surprised to hear if this place closes down. Mgmt needs to step up and make many, many changes. What a disappointment! Needless to say, wont be back and will encourage friends/fam to go elsewhere.
First, the restaurant was nearly empty at 7 pm on a Thursday. Service wise there should’ve been no issues, but we hardly saw the wait staff. I needed something meaty without it being seafood. I inquired about the catfish and the waitress said do not order the catfish because the breading comes off and it is tasteless. I opted for a cheeseburger with fries. Meh. The fries came out cold. The burger itself had a good flavor, but it was not piping hot like it just came off the grill. They could not do a whiskey sour, even.
While we had a bay side table, when the food doesn’t complement the view, you walk away disheartened. It is truly sad since Charlotte Plummers has been in business for years. The food disappointed, along with the service. Thus, the lack of a food photo and a departing morning photo of the restaurant.
We will definitely come again!
The staff was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was laid-back and inviting. Definitely our new favorite spot!
There was a pretty decent salad bar. I miss salad bars. I didn’t do the salad bar but it looked good.
Ordered the Oyster stew. Extremely bland, I salted the bejesus out of it. It was also was luke warm.
I ordered the flounder. I had wanted the stuffed flounder but I guess I didn’t convey that. My bad.
The flounder was bland and luke warm. The baked potato was luke warm and the butter didn’t melt. The vegetables were luke warm and bland.
My wife had tomato basil, it was luke warm. And the linguine Vera Cruz was mostly red onions, which is a trick cheap restaurants do to give a dish volume. Also, the pasta was greasy (and luke warm).
It seems that:
A. They don’t have heat lamps
B. They don’t have seasonings.
Also, What is That Smell!? It smells like sewage outside the restaurant and you can smell it inside as well.
