First visit for me (2024), breakfast sandwich on a Saturday. The chicken and biscuit were delicious! I would definitely come back.
*Note that the hours with serving chicken are different than the ice cream hours.
Edit: They just opened for the 2025 season and this chicken sammy was worth the wait!

This is the first time I’ve been here since the renovations, Ill start by saying the staff was very nice. The food however was almost inedible. I ordered the Nashville hot and two orders of hillbilly tacos (which used to be my favorite lunch from here) all of the chicken was burnt and was way to salty, and I mean burnt like black. I will attach photos. And I believe my order total was over 27$ with tip. I love this place I have been coming here for a long time, but this really ruined my day, and im not the type of person to send food back thou I got very close on this one.

I’ve been going here for years and it has always been the best chicken and ice cream spot ever. Even now with change of ownership I feel they are fitting the spot great maybe even a little better. I am happy they still make my favorite sandwich the Nashville hot. I was nervous about it because of the change to menu but they will make it the way you want it. If you are out having a fun day, working around on the lake or just want a nice view and good food you definitely should come here

This place really hit the spot today when it came to a chicken sandwhich. I got the nashville hot chicken sandwhich, my mom got the cali chick. It was so good! I highly recommend this place. Also grabbed a chicken pot pie soup. Haven’t ate yet, but after eating these samdwhiches. So good. Be aware. This is not a sit down restaurant. They have picnic tables outside. It is just too cold to be sitting out there.

The Chicken House in the Bay of Gull Lake is a local gem! Their sandwiches are always fresh and full of flavor, and if you are looking for a sweet treat the ice cream selection is awesome! The recent renovation looks amazing—bright, clean, and super welcoming. I also love that you can now order online—it makes grabbing a bite even more convenient. (Edit: Almost 2 months later now, and we gave Chicken House a try again because we needed something quick and easy. Very happy to see the Throwbacks on the menu, and the prices seem to have come back down a touch. Sadly, the Nashville Hot is still not as saucy as it used to be, but other than that, everything we got was fantastic! We’re also looking forward to seeing the new ordering window that’s supposed to be coming soon.)
We were so excited for chicken house to reopen and excited about the extended hours, but we are unhappy about the new menu. It’s great that there are more options now, but completely getting rid of the specialty named sandwich list and making the menu all build-it-yourself was a poor move. We had to look up the old menu to figure out what all the toppings were on our favorite sandwiches only to see about a 50% increase in price. Then, when we got them, they were not the same as before. The Nashville Hot, in particular, was quite lacking.
We will likely still get Chicken House every once in a while since it’s so close, but definitely not nearly as often as we used to. Probably won’t be recommended Chicken House anymore either.

The Chicken House on Gull Lake is a real gem! If you’re looking for some seriously delicious food, look no further. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. But the real star of the show? Their special “come back” sauce. Seriously, it lives up to the name – you’ll find yourself wanting to come back just for that! It’s got this perfect blend of tang and spice that complements everything on the menu.
Beyond the fantastic food, I also wanted to give a shout-out to Jeff. He’s doing a fantastic job! The service was top-notch, friendly, and efficient. It’s clear he cares about making sure everyone has a great experience.
If you’re in the Gull Lake area, make sure to stop by the Chicken House. Your taste buds will thank you, and you might just find your new favorite sauce!
