First off this is my very first bad review ever so let me start there. My dad is in a wheelchair and it’s almost wheelchair friendly with a big bump to come up into the restaurant but nothing too major. They had a ramp down into the dining area. The waitress was working alone running around like a chicken with her head cut off because there is 3 different areas you can be seated and they are all very far away from one another. She was a kind lady. The food came out cold (as expected since she was the only one there. In addition it wasn’t very good. My husband had the surf and turf and the steak wasn’t grilled it was cooked on a flat surface grill u can tell because of no grill marks. Both of my boys had the chicken cordon blu burger/sandwich and said it was subpar and they wouldn’t eat it again it was dry and tasted nothing like what it was. My daughter kept complaining her noodles were cold there was no flavor or sauce and she had the fettuccini.
My Gouda Mac n cheeee was also lukewarm and lacking of sauce and the flavor was off but I can’t put my finger on why. The chicken I added for an up charge was juicy and good but not great. My dad had the fish and the oil they cooked it in needs to be changed as all the batter was dark brown for the fish and the fries. Their garlic toast was the only really good thing about the meal. Then came the bill which for sub par food was outrageous see picture of steak and 3 shrimp small potatoes for $34 not even grilled!! Then the waitress failed to mention a $5 charge for using a card. The atmosphere was dusty and they kept trying to turn on the tv with awful music that played the same sunshine song on repeat. Will not even bother trying again it’s not worth it. Gordon Ramsey would tear this place apart.

What a find! Not only is the food top notch, I’ve never in my life had an icy mug of beer like this. Absolutely everyone there makes you feel at home and the history of the building is really fascinating! Former rooming house, speak easy, jail cell, what more can you ask for? The heart and soul is real at Tavern on the Range.

This is the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life just because were iron rangers doesn’t mean we have to have nasty food. I have pictures and videos of the silverware being gross the bathroom being disgusting , The carpets are ripped and black and they are a tripping hazard the ramp going into the restaurant creeks so much it feels like people were going through it, This is probably the worst I’ve ever seen Really disgusted the half-and-half was sour to the point where it was no longer a liquid It came out in the clump, the ranch dressing was water. The pretzel bites were the dark tasted burnt and they were hard, There was barely any sauce on the Alfredo It was like water. There was smudges all over anything glass It was very dusty and dingy. The restaurant was very cold. There’s no service In the restaurant you have to ask for the Wi-Fi password, The bathroom stall door I had to lift up in order to latch it To lock it , The toilet seat was stained red. The sinks were all stained and had corrosion all over the faucets. And the only reason I gave them one star is because I can’t give them zero because if I could give them 0-3000 times!!!
Update the owner is going to press charges on me i drank half of the beer and I have proof of every thing I have videos and pictures of the condition of this said restaurant All secondly, I don’t slander people I came there because I heard people talking about oh you should try this Place it’s new and… So I tried it I was not impressed because it was disgusting. I’m sorry go ahead and send the police I’ll pay for the stupid half a beer that I drink and the burnt pretzels. My daughter ate, but I want compensation for my time for your nastiness, and I will be contacting the health department and I will be sending all these pictures and videos to them. I don’t have a reason to slander nobody. If you can’t handle a Google review, maybe you shouldn’t. put your business out there like that acting like it is a good place to eat when it’s disgusting So if you wanna send the police my way, that’s cool matter fact I’ll even call the police and make my statement
Update part 2 : I went back there with the money order that way I had proof that I paid the bill in my hands so they can’t say that I didn’t pay the bill. That’s what the officer advised me to do and the owner, Mr. Troy demanded that I take the review down and that I needed to do it now and I told him no I will not be and I do not have to buy law. I have the right to review anybody I want if I need to and I’ve heard so many bad stories from local people about this place, I will never recommend this place to anybody. Yeah it’s kind of funny too because when we went in there to pay the bill, it smelled way cleaner in the bar area like they cleaned because they’re scared or something I don’t know.

We stopped in for dinner not knowing what to expect. I knew they had hit and miss ratings online. We had a perfectly enjoyable time, and the meal was exceptionally good. We ordered the Poutine, Dumpling Soup and a Triple Burger. The owner Solomon came and greeted us at our table and thanked us for stopping in. He said he would play a little piano for us while we ate. And boy did he! Very impressive, check out my video. I was excited to see they had Castle Danger cream ale on tap and the food was all presented nicely. If there is one take away, I left with, it is this, I had the best burger here that I’ve had in years! It was as juicy and flavorful throughout. I would now vote this place best burgers on the range. Reminded me of Palmers when they had juicy burgers 5 years ago. I will definitely be going back to see if our experience was a rare occurrence or if they are consistently great. Don’t hesitate, give them a shot. Solomon the new owner was great and very hospitable.
Update (2 stars off) – So a few days later a coworker came here with his wife, sister a brother-in-law and they had a totally different experience. I felt bad because they tried it based off my good recommendation. They said they sat with empty drinks most of time they were there, one of them asked for a water and never got it and the food took over an hour to get when they were the only table in there ordering food. They said the waitress was too busy chatting with guys at the bar to properly check in on them and refill their drinks. They did say the food was good when they did get it. They asked for a box and the same girl forgot to bring it and they had to go to the bar and ask again. So, they had very poor service overall. Solomon please be more attentive to the customers in your establishment. My coworker will not be back any time soon. So, it would appear the hit and miss reviews are quite valid. You don’t know if you’ll get them on a good night or a bad one. It’s a 50/50 toss-up. I did enjoy our meal when we happened to stop in on a good night.

We had a party of six in the big dining room. The owner, chef and waitress were very friendly. Our food was very good, and we felt the prices were reasonable. Our only complaint was that our food did not come out as a group of six orders. By the time the last two baskets were delivered, the first two people were almost done eating.
We will definately go back when we are in the area, and hopefully with a smaller group, we won’t have timing issues.

Really love this little place! I went to karaoke here, and the vibe was awesome! The owners are amazing people who put their heart and soul into it. The food is always top-notch notch and the drinks are amazing. If you haven’t had their bloody Mary, I encourage you to try it! If you like it spicy, they have a habanero vodka that is tasty, and their bloody Mary mix is made in-house.
Quick little fact: Solomon has a sound board there from Prince’s Paisley Park Studio. It’s an epic piece of gear!!

Our party of three tried the daily special of great soul food. Sitting on the patio with our dogs was a great time with a friend. Kat, Solomon, and Stephan all came out and chatted with us. The restaurant has a great, relaxed vibe and a great location to hear live music on the weekend and plenty of weekday activities. I highly recommend checking it out as it’s has a similar vibe as Cheers the TV show. It’s easily a place to become a regular.

The service is always exceptional, Kat going from customer to customer, Misha with her amazing desserts and the bartending staff with their great service! The food is always good to top it off. We enjoy going here for date nights. We had their burger and patty melt, always fresh and hot. The drinks are always good too. Thank you again Kat and her employees.

Came here because I heard good reviews. I had the fish fry and my boyfriend had the pizza juicy Lucy. The food was excellent! Huge portion of fish that was not soggy but had a perfect crispy battered coating. The boyfriend raved about his burger, and our Mac and cheese bites were out of the world delicious! I will definitely be back!
