Food is absolutely amazing! And it’s a really good price! The building could definitely use some maintenance. The bathroom is very very dirty, and there was bugs inside. And there is no human order takers. Other than that if you’re looking for a fast, cheap, very good meal it’s a pretty good option. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but in general it is very good!

My friends and I came here late at night after a concert. There were only 3 employees unfairly working there, insanely swamped in orders as many of us concertgoers had the same late night dinner idea. They did the best they could while annoyed customers yelled at them asking for a refund. As a service worker myself i totally felt for them. Management needs to prepare for nights like this, i mean it is a steak and shake right next to a hotel. To the employees, you all seem lovely and deserve better than this. 5 stars for them.

went to SnS yesterday and orders a single steakburger only cheese, fries and cheese sauce. 21 minutes later I got a double with ketch mustard and pickles and no cheese sauce. I asked for a refund and was informed steak n shake prohibits refunds and only allows food to be remade so I would have to wait an additional 10-15 minutes. on my 30 min lunch break.
I posted on X and found out everyone says steak n shake isn’t good food anymore , has zero customer service and takes too long to be convenient. when you are not cheap convenient or reliable- your brand is trash. I wont be back. but bet I’ll tell people until I die how awful my experience was at steak n shake in east Peoria illinois and I will specifically mention they take money in good faith and refuse refunds when they fail.

Probably the worst steak and shake in the area. Never adds extra garlic sauce to burgers after paying for it. Never makes sure their entire order is sent with delivery drivers. Consistently lacks good food quality whether it’s the drive through or door dash.

Tonight’s visit at Steak and Shake pretty much made me decide that I’m more than likely never going back here again. We pulled up to the drive-thru at 8:04pm. and there were three cars in front of us. By the time we made it to the box to order it was 8:27pm. Twice the girl told me to go ahead with my order and after I requested the first thing she told me to “hold on” both times. I’m thinking maybe she had been a new employee or something because she kept stopping and asking the woman that she was working with questions. When we finally got our order placed we pulled up to the window at 8:43 p.m. it was the other lady that our order taker kept asking questions. She went over the order and asked a few questions herself because our order wasn’t properly taken. When we got home we opened the bag and realize that the barbecue sauce we had asked for was open and spilled all over the inside of the bag and inside the chicken strip box. We also notice that all of the fries were half full and they were soggy and cold, the Patties on the burgers were so thin & small that it was pretty much just a bread sandwich and lettuce was dark green wet and Soggy. It was probably the grossest meal I’ve ever had. I’m not usually one to call and complain but I think I’ll be calling the manager in the morning. I’m disappointed that I had to write a negative review I enjoy doing these reviews on Google Maps and 99% percent of the time they are all positive feedback. I can’t believe that I waited as long as I did and that drive through I’m really not sure why I didn’t leave to be honest. I’m sorry it had to end this way.

This place use to be cool. No wait staff, no seating, no waitress or waiter anymore. The quality sucks, the real dishes are gone replaced with plastic. The drink system is jacked, over all other then the view, this place has fallen so far not there is no experience there anymore. Steak and Shake EP died with John Street and John Noe.
Well, I gave them another chance. We had to wait almost 40 minutes for a $36 order. 5 pucks and a 5 way. I mean, that long of a wait and my bun was cold and not even toasted. The 5 way is suppose to have utensils for eating, crackers, and parm. I use to work here, so I know. Nothing was on the tray, someone come put a fork in this place, it’s done…

Went down memory lane at East Peoria Steak’nShake today.. the restaurant is really quite attractive inside, & one of the best views of any dining establishment in the area! It actually sparkled with cleanliness, like a breath of fresh air as I walked in. The only thing sad/ bad about it was that nobody dines in anymore. Take your children in … grab some comfort food, & give them the fond memory of a great view.. while eating funny, skinny little fries. Hands down Steak n Shake has the BEST shakes of anyone!!

It has been a while since my wife and I had been there. Terrible experience. One kiosk for food entry down, one soda fountain down, beans were not cooked in my chili, wife had chili Mac and it tasted like it was burnt. My order was for a cup of chili, fries and a double berger. Burger smashed so thin you could see through it and the onions were still green. Paid $27.00 for this mess and most likely won’t be back. Please bring back service if you wish not to be closed soon. Code enforcement in the area is well known to check if complained about. My suggestion, straighten up or close.
