12/17/2025 I went here for my first time with my wife. I have been thinking about this review for a few days now. I have decided to give it a 3/5. I’ve heard about this place since I moved to Lexington a few years ago and finally got a chance to go. I was met by a cashier who was literally head down on the counter and falling asleep. I stepped up and she looked up and then just stared at me and didn’t say a word , I proceeded with my order and then pulled my card out and she flatly said “cash only” and tapped a tiny paper sign that I didn’t notice before. My wife grabbed cash and we went to pay again and reorder and she again didn’t say a word and yelled the order to the co workers and then walked away. Didn’t tell me about separate windows for shakes and food etc I felt very frustrated for the way things were going with the staff and then she put her head back down on the counter. (I get it we all have those days but come on…) the food however for the price is a great option! Much cheaper than I’d say any fast food place out there. The shake and the fries were great and the burgers and chili dogs were as well! Just don’t expect much friendliness when coming in.

Great food been a staple in my family since I was a weee tike. Always get a small fry, they going to give you enough for two people easily every time. Always have since I was a kid not much has changed family owned and great food always giving these teanagers a job. Their prices have adjusted to inflation some. But me my wife and our twin 7 year olds can all get a burger frie and a milkshake for under 20 dollars. Plus milkshakes are great

A rare cash only establishment that keeps things simple on the menu and the wallet. Cheap, affordable, good tasting food that’s prepared and ready to go by time you’ve paid. A cool place to try. Will be coming back in the future.

The food was really good. Everything must be cooked to order because the food was piping hot. The burgers do come dressed so be aware of that. They are cash only which makes sense because the cost is dirt cheap. While the food was great the service could have been friendlier. Also, almost all the tables were dirty.

This place is a Lexington tradition that dates back long before my time. I can remember coming here with my grandfather as a tiny kid. It’s so simple and delicious at the same time. Flame grilled burgers, fries, and milkshakes at very reasonable prices. Just make sure that you bring cash, because that’s all that they accept for payment. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you’re in the area.

Can’t beat the price.
The food is good—nothing fancy, but consistently good. The cheeseburgers are my favorite: a tasty thin patty with cheese, mustard, ketchup, onion, and pickle, plus a side of fries and a milkshake.
The restaurant could use some updates, though, as it’s definitely showing its age. My grandfather would have said it adds to the character.

Just don’t go here….First off, it’s a homeless hang out, so theres that….. ordered our food from a very unfriendly girl. Food was awful. Got a double cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake. Everything just tasteless. Chocolate shake was white and had no flavor, no chocolate whatsoever, fries tasteless, burger tasteless. Then a worker comes thru as people are eating spraying febreeze all over the place, right around everyone’s food!!! I mean I guess I dont blame him, a homeless woman was camped at a booth. Thought it would be a cute vintage vibe but, no, just no. Not sure how they’re still in business?

I have to think that they’re under new management. There seems to be a different taste as well as the fries. For 50 years if you ordered fries they would put way more in the bag. Now the container isn’t even full, let alone the ones that you’d find at the bottom of the bag.
