So I found out about this place through Uber eats. I had the crab stuffed salmon the first time. It was good. However, I’ve had it a few different times and it has been different each time. Definitely the portion sizes. Sometime it’s a nice size and other times it’s very small. The Mac and cheese is hit or miss as well. Calling in your order is easy. Pickup is easy. Good prices. It’s all takeout. The overall flavor of the food is good. But they lack consistency. I’ve ordered the salmon fried rice multiple times the portion size and flavor was different. As seen in pics this time the salmon was 2 oz. At best the salmon should be 4 oz and it’s way too much rice. I work in the industry so I understand the business. So I get it but sometimes the portion sizes are way off. The calamari was a small portion but more importantly the calamari had two different batters and no real flavor and overcooked. Not edible. Very chewy. The fried shrimp was excellent. Not 16-20 jumbo. But I would order again. Great flavor. When I first ordered the crab balls it was real crab in there. Then I ordered again it was imitation crab and taste like the frozen kind with too much breading. I think they should minimize their menu and focus on what they do best! So if they can work on their recipes, portion sizes and consistency they will be a great take out spot.

Alhamdulillaah had the pleasure of getting food from Soul By The Sea for the first time. 1 word DELICIOUS . My husband ordered himself the fried shrimp & fries (platter), and I got rice, salmon & spinach wrap w/fries (platter).. Listennnn that wrap OMG my favorite. The sauce is good as well, but you don’t need it. My husband enjoyed his food as well. Food was done in a timely manner, with excellent customer service & price is well worth it. NO COMPLAINTS over this way
Also got brunch from JakkFrost. Hubbs got his steak , egg & cheese with jumbo shrimp on a bagel . I got fried whitting fish with cheesy grits & jumbo shrimp . Let’s not forget those Butter Honey Biscuits Never disappointed

1st pic is fried scallops, taste as if they were sitting in the batter all day. Same with the last pic which is calamari.
2nd pic is sautéed shrimp. I enjoyed them the most. They were not over cooked and the sauce was good.
3rd pic is crab fries. I have mixed feelings about them. They may have had the potential to be better if they were hot.

The crabs from this place are clearly old as hell as soon as I opened one it smelled of ammonia opened a second same smell and they are black inside as if they began growing mold ! This is not ok at all I could’ve contracted food poisoning and my children as well. I order multiple items that are now in the trash crab fries and crab balls have imitation crab meat. I should’ve known from the old fish smell inside of the store when I picked up that the food was no good ! I will stick with Bobs or Crab & Claw, I should’ve known the prices were too good to be true I guess you get what you pay for !

I ended up here because my usual place that I go to ran out of food for the day. I wasn’t very happy with my food. I didn’t get very much food for $20 and my food was very overcooked. I got wings, mac n cheese, collard greens, and yams. The yams were the only thing I really enjoyed even though they were on the dry side. The girl that took my order was nice though. There is also a smell inside the restaurant that should really be addressed. It can’t be good for y’all to breathe that in all day. I can’t say I’ll be returning.

I got a fish platter with Mac and cheese and Mac and tuna salad… The fish was salty, Mac and tuna salad taste like it been sitting since Thanksgiving… Mac and cheese had no flavor… I genuinely want small businesses to win, but I don’t understand how a restaurant would feed someone something they wouldn’t eat themselves…

UPDATE: I ordered food from Soul by the Sea again and made a mistake of ordering the corn after I said it wasn’t good! I should have taken my own advice because the corn is just not tasty at all! The potatoes were good. However, I had to mix up my own garlic butter, which wasn’t a big deal. Now the shrimp looked a little different this time. They weren’t as golden brown and didn’t look as fresh as the last time. I am trying to support this black business but I need you to be on point every time I order.
I ordered fried shrimp, corn, and potatoes. The shrimp and potatoes were very good. However, the corn wasn’t that tasty. It didn’t seem to be cooked long enough and didn’t have much flavor. I would order the shrimp and potatoes again, but not the corn.

We saw this establishment on Tiktok, so I went on Friday 9/19. Got 2 whiting platters, Mac, greens. 1 platter had 3 tiny pieces of fish and 1 had 2. The fish was hard and overcooked. The Mac was missing cheese, but the greens were seasoned. I could taste the vinegar. The hostess was very pleasant. Overall I rate this restaurant 4 out of 10

The shrimp was ok but the macaroni and tuna was tangy like it was going bad and the seafood salad they gave me was a half full small container and when I called them they tried telling me there was nothing wrong with the macaroni salad. I ordered threw UE and definitely will not ever order from here again
