10/10 recommend the New Albany DKD location.
The side salad with ginger dressing is delicious.
They have so many rolls to choose from but Ballin Out Crunch Roll is hands down a fave!

Went here with a group of colleagues and loved it! Ordered the selfish shellfish roll which was light and flavorful. The person next to me ordered a side of edamame which I’d never tried, so she offered some to me, and it was incredible! Maybe they aren’t anything special to those who’ve had edamame, but I loved it. The server — blonde, younger but can’t recall her name — was wonderful.

I got the Robert Dinroll and OH MY! I am new to eating fish and sea food. Really didn’t like it a few years ago and then husband explained I was just eating sea food at the wrong places and boy was he right! This is my second or third time eating Sushi. First time I didn’t even like it (was somewhere else) this time I LOVE IT!!! Everything about it was perfect. I usually have to dip whatever I eat into sauce. Just love having sauces as a dip. This didn’t even need that! They had it layered perfectly and it tasted sooo good! I ate it before I took a photo. Also love they put a little divider between the sushi and the wasabi since I took my food to go. Keep up the good work!

When Dragon King’s Daughter first opened, it quickly became one of my favorite restaurants. For a long time, the food was impeccable. Based on the restaurant’s own description of striving for a transcendent dining experience, that early reputation felt well earned.
This recent visit was a takeout order, and unfortunately, transcendence did not make it into the bag.
We ordered The Indulgent, which arrived lukewarm, bland, and indulgent in name only. California rolls came neatly packed, but once we tried them, they were dry and mostly fell apart, and we just couldn’t roll with it.
There was also a small side of tortilla chips with what appeared to be salsa included with the order. We didn’t ask for it, but it showed up anyway, uninvited. Sadly, the chips were stale, so the surprise cameo did not improve the overall experience.
The staff has always been friendly, and this isn’t a service issue. It’s simply a noticeable decline in food quality, which is especially disappointing considering how good this place used to be.
This was once a restaurant I couldn’t stop recommending. Now, I’m so disappointed I can barely whisper its name

I really like eating here. The food is always delicious and the presentation is perfect. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I would suggest the havarty spring roll and the Ballin Out Of Crunch Roll. They made us Cherry Cokes and they were so good!

We had a large party, and they served us wonderfully. Our server was extremely nice and talkative. I don’t think she works there anymore as she moved, she was extremely helpful when choosing food. As for my table-area, I got the tonkatsu ramen, which I liked though the noodles had an odd texture which I was not a particular fan of but whatever. Then, the dragons king daughter roll was delicious. And the provided soy sauce paired well with it. And finally the rainbow roll—I forget the actual name—was very good. One of my party members disliked the rice seasoning but it was still very good.
10/10 I would definitely recommend!

It’s a nice place for a date night. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The host at the front desk is very nice. The grill area was great.

My favorite place to eat in all of New Albany. I’ve taken friends here and they love it too! Food is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. (Get the banana pudding wontons for dessert! So, SO good.) I treat myself to DKD a few times a year.
I do have to deduct a point on service. While it’s normally great, a couple of recent visits haven’t been the best in that regard. Example: I came in on Halloween partially costumed (nothing inappropriate) and the employee up front looked at me like I just kicked a baby in front of them So hopefully that will improve with future visits.

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent experience on 7/27 around 5:30pm. Unfortunately, the food quality was not up to the usual standard we’ve come to love at this restaurant. Some dishes seemed overcooked, and even the sushi had ingredients that were dried out or didn’t meet the usual quality of DKD.
I felt bad for our server, it seemed like he was unhappy or struggling, which may have resulted in incorrect orders and late timing of our drinks. We also noticed we were charged full price for items that should have been part of happy hour, which was disappointing.
I hope this feedback is helpful, and that any issues can be addressed. We really enjoy this place and look forward to a better experience next time!

It’s worth the drive across the river for us to go to this DKD location. The staff were exceptional, the best we’ve had in years. The food came out quick and was perfect, despite the fact that it was a busy Saturday night. Skip the Louisville location and come here instead!
